We visited this restaurant, tired and hungry on the recommendation of our hosts, Castelvecchio. A warm Italian welcome was only the start of the experience. This is a restaurant that is run by a most lovely and convivial close-knit family. The home cooked food was sensational and reflected a true Tuscan excellence. We were constantly delighted by the quality and... More

We travel to Italy 2-3 times a year. We stopped in for a coffee and a grappa one day and ended up having a coffee, a HUGE homemade grappa, and a lot of laughs with owner Paola Barucci. Bar Ucci (a play on her last name) is welcoming, gregarious and fun, and she sure can pour a long grappa! We... More

This small, family owned restaurant sits in the heart of the tiny town of Volpaia and an incredibly picturesque setting! We had some amazing salads and pastas and everything could not have been more fresh or more delicious. Paola serves a farro salad that I had to recreate when I got home. It took me a couple of tries but... More

We drove to Volpaia early one morning from nearby Radda after reading the Tripadvisor tip. Well worth the short drive as this is a great little town and the Ucci was a first class place for morning coffee. Great outside seating area and fantastic ambience. We will be back.

We are a couple demanding high quality food, combined with local touch and inspiration. We love home cuisine of Paola and her energy of managing all customers. Try home bruschette with tomatoes and Pasta with tomatoe, garlic and basil. You will taste real Tuscany cuisine there. Pity that there was no tiramisu left, Paola :)

The trek by bike to Volpaia was well worth it for the friendly service and excellent food at Bar Ucci.

Had a great brief visit here in July. We tried the local Volpoia classico and Volpoia Reserva with some crostado's. I was especially positively surprised by the Volpoia Classico (mild, subtle tones with charming sparkling red colour, almost Pinot Noir like but still distincitvely Chianti). Also loved the dogs and the local atmosphere.

We were staying nearby, and thought we'd nip up to Volpaia - once there, we were enchanted! Fabulous little village. We had a coffee at Bar Ucci, and then drove on to Radda......which was rather disappointing - VERY touristy - so we returned to Bar Ucci for lunch. Very simple....a salad, a plate of cheese and hams, the local chianti... More

we were 10 of us staying at the Villa Al Monte close to the spectacular Hill village of Volpaia. we had gone to Volpaia on our first day to see the village and take a tour of the Winery in the castle ( must do), when we came across this bar across from the castle. It was full of people... More
