This is the 5th time we have been here and it's been fab every time till now, this visit has put me off going back again. For the price of it we could of gone somewhere better. The starters were good but the mains just were not worth the money the salmon was tiny, the chips were raw in the... More

If you want overpriced microwaved food this is the place. A tasteless spoonful of chicken pate, a rubber beefburger and a leather bap. I complained by e-mail which was acknowledged but no further response over a week later. A menu which flatters to deceive and a 25 minute wait between courses.

This place is lovely and quaint and it is always really busy with the locals and also the local farmers with their dog! It is a really cosy pub in the middle of Raby so it is quite hard to find if your not from this area. A lot of cyclists come here as a stop off so you usually... More

No atmosphere and the food was mediocre. Have not been back since. Love the pub, though!

Visited these premises, the oldest pub in Wirral, Cheshire, known as "The Thatch at Raby" for lunch. Hadn't been for a few years and the roof was being rethatched. The Cowshed Restaurant was very comfortable, our only mistake was to linger over the menu which made the service a little slow. This was my only complaint. For a weekday lunch... More

Good food, great value accompanied by a great range of well kept beers on tap. Staff are charming as ever and the Cowshed is great for either a special celebration or a casual lunch with a friend.

We decided a few weeks ago to try the Sunday lunch at this restaurant at 3pm (end of service was at 3:30pm). We have been a few times in the past and even brought our family for an engagement celebration a good few years ago. We had previously had positive experiences, however on this occasion we were very disappointed. I... More

Sunday lunch very average, could have got the same type of food at any local pub for £6 or £7 the beef is sliced so thin you can hardly taste it, little bowl of mixed veg cut so small you think it was for a 1 year old, sticky toffee pud was hard on the bottom. Would not go again.A... More

We decided to call in to the "Thatch" for Sunday lunch and as always here we were not disappointed. Choice of six starters, lovely homemade soups and the main course meats were all local rarebreed .Now I know that if you look around most pubs these days they all do Sunday lunch for £5.99 or you have to stand in...
