Went to the Cowshed on Saturday night with my husband. We were seated next to a window which has a sign on it saying that it was to be repaired The window was slightly open and it was freezing. I complained and a member of staff came and drew the blind down but it was still very draughty. That said,... More

I'd never heard of this place but wanted to try something different for sunday lunch, hopefully somewhere that can manage a roast spud properly! I booked a table for two and from that very moment onwards, everything was just perfect; we couldn't believe how good the experience was. On arrival we were seated promptly, our drink order taken right away,... More

Set in a lovely rural position surrounded by farmland, this charming old-fashioned timbered and thatched building has been well known in the area for a great many years. It is always a pleasure to return to and has retained a bygone era atmosphere. There is ample off the road car parking. There are log fires buring in the winter months.... More

As the title states very pleasant setting and friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good quality but could have been a bit warmer. Also the service was a little slower than we would have liked. That said it is a weekend just before Christmas which could have contributed to both those minor observations. All in all it was... Celebrated my birthday her with family. Really good choice. The food was excellent and the service very personable. All within a quaint setting that I know our Aamerican friends will love when they come over next year. Can't wait to go back.

6 called yesterday 8/12/14 for lunch. We were given a table in the cowshed restaurant as there were no seats available in the bar area. We only had a snack. i.e. soup and sandwich. The soup was only cauliflower and bean very bland, I had a beef sandwich, the bread must of been several days old as it was very... More

Quiet attentive service, oodles of choice from the menu, really tasty and well presented food. No complaints and even got to keep the lamb bone for the dog!

We have been going to this pub for years, but on the last 3 visits, we have had Trappers Hat and it has gone flat and awful tastes within minutes, head completely gone.We came in on Friday 31st, the place was buzzing, had a pint each and we both left it. We will be back next week, will try another... More

Went out for a special occasion meal with family and it was worth the journey from Cheshire. Couldn't fault it, although we all thought the lighting was just a little too dim. Staff attentive but not pushy, food was wonderful, wine list comprehensive. Don't mind paying a bit more than usual for this quality. Keep it up,
