Both dinner and breakfast were super. Dinner felt like you should be seated next to someone from Downton Abbey. We had dinner music, chandeliers, candles on the table and superior service. Food was excellent. Waiters came with our main course under a silver dome, and with a flourish, the domes came off and our main course was presented. For breakfast, there... More

Considering we only live 10 minutes away from Dromoland Castle, I'm really questioning why we don't dine there more often !. (note to self !!)... The service as always is top-class; the ambiance of the place is unique and the food is exceptional. I had rabbit for starter and Pheasant for main course followed by cheese board and it was... More

We had a family breakfast each of our mornings at the Castle, and the quality (and quantity) of food offered was top notch. They even catered to my daughter's nut allergy, and treated us as family. Yes, it's pricey, but well worth it - especially considering we could skip lunch those days!

Food is good, potentially great. Care and attention to detail is lacking. The atmosphere is really great, the place tries to set an expectation that it is almost Michelin Star in the way it sets out the menus, the wine list, the service but ... Wrong cutlery for starter - I spent the whole of the first course not eating... More

We had a wonderful afternoon tea here. Very atmospheric and the food was incredible. Delicious sandwiches, pastries and perfectly baked scones. Lovely!

There are two places to eat: the restaurant, and Shannigan's Gastro Pub. Staff were friendly, but I had to move tables due to the smell of cigarette smoke drifting in from the open door across the room. The staff member I mentioned it to didn't close the door. I had the seafood chowder, which was tasty - and very, very... More

We loved everything. The Hawk Walk was really unusual and interesting. Food was delicious and the gardens were beautiful. We attended a wedding when we were there and it was out of this world. The walled rose garden was a private setting for the ceremony, the cocktail hour on the terrace was lovely and the dinner was delicious. We will... More

Looking for a more casual venue for lunch, we chose the Fig Tree rather than the more formal dining area in the castle. The Fig Tree in the club was very elegant, good menu choices. You may pay a little more here than an average restaurant but it is worth it and the portions are generous. Service was very good.... More

A real treat. We started with a cheese tray and tea service. The butler was dressed in full tux with white gloves that he kept spotless while straining the tea. Dinner was great and we followed it up with an evening cocktail in the bar.
