Night at Bunratty

The whole experience was wonderful. I confess my favorite part of the evening was a solo played on the harp by a young man. It was absolutely beautiful. I never knew a harp could evoke such feeling. Food was a bit spicy for me but bread was plentiful

So I went to Bunratty Castle feast. Really should be called Buncrappy castle. There were 15 of us. All it felt like was being in a herd of cattle being brought to the trough. First you are sent up the tower round steps in single file. You get a greeting and some horrid wine concoction that is called mead. Then... More

Lots of food. Entertainment was top notch in terms of information, craic, music and song. A bit about the castle is shared. All ages enjoyed themselves. Eating with fingers and daggers seems to erase inhibitions and talking crosses between and among individuals and groups.

All entertainers are dressed in period clothing very lovely. The singing was very beautiful. They have audience participating, which is quite fun. The castle itself is phenomenal decorated in all period pieces, to think you are looking at tapestries dating back to the 1400's is something to see. The wine is free flowing, but the food is a bit bland... More

One of these clear liquids is water. The other clear water like liquid is actually 14.7% alcohol. Can you tell which one is which? Mistakes were made..... Highly recommended! Please don't bring your children.

We enjoyed our feast and entertainment as well the merriment made during the singing. My husband was crowned King of the feast and became part of the program which led to a lot of jovial fun. Everyone joined in for lots of laughs and singing.

It was an enjoyable evening with a difference but it's not something that I'll go to again. However, on the whole the experience was good

The staff, entertainers were great. A good introduction to Irish lore and life in the past. The food was very good and was eaten with your hands on long tables inside the Bunratty Castle..great. This was our second time there.

I thought eating in a real 500 -600 year old castle was quite interesting. The food was okay and there was plenty of it. Knives worked well to eat with too! Plenty of wine too if you wanted it. The entertainment was the best part of the night, I really enjoyed the music and singing.

Bunratty Castle was revived by an Irish lord as a tourist attraction, that being said - -IT'S IRELAND! You are bound to have a good time just from interacting with the staff. Be careful, though, or you could end up in jail! During the feast some lucky (?) tourist is jailed in a tower for a bit! No harm done,... More
