Decent enough

Went for lunch with my girls. Ordered a French connection panini and coffee. Only downside I had was the wait but it was lunch time on Saturday and busy. Staff seemed nice enough but could be a bit more pleasant. I would go again but not my first choice for dining. Decor could be updated.

Walking up the street in Cavan we came on the Melbourne Bakery, so we dropped in for tea and scones, it was very busy always a good sign as the locals always find the best places to go. Very friendly staff and great scones next time in Cavan we know where to go

Portion size was OK. I ordered a chicken curry pie and my wife ordered quiche. Sadly it all went into a microwave. Either the it was there hours or the heat lamps are inadequate to keep food hot. Service needs to be polished it would be nicer if tou felt a bit more special as a customer and not feeling... More

overcharging is commonplace here and if you question it you are made to feel stupid even when you are right, food not great either, it's just ok

Ordered buns to take away here recently. Staff member serving me was polite. Selection of pastries was very good. We ordered two different types of buns. I was asked whether we were dining in or taking out. I responded taking out but was shocked when we were charged dining in prices. The bun I had tasted terrible - It was... More

What can I say the others have not already said? The lasagne (and I am somewhat of a connoisseur with regard to lasagne) is amazing and the shepherds pie is to die for. It is a tad over-priced but I would rather pay more for quality oh and did I mention the French fries or desserts tres bien:-))))))))

Got a sausage roll & chips with a glass of tap water. €9.60?! How does that work out.. seemed very steep as I'm nearly sure sausage roll wasn't homemade! Made my way to the table, when the man who worked/owned the place proceeded to follow me, pulling my tray to the other side of the table, taking my plate off... More

I have used quite a few of the cafe's around cavan but this for me is by far the best. The staff are always friendly and polite. It is very clean throughout. The food is always lovely with great choice. I love the bakery side as well. This is the only cafe I will use when ever I am there.
