The worst meal EVER. Beautiful setting looking out over the bay . This restaurant should not be allowed to advertise as an award winning restaurant because it is far from that.

Busy and popular but plenty of room so we had no difficulty getting a table for 2 on both the evenings we visited. Food was good and we would certainly recommend the seafood chowder

Service was great. There were ten of us and the restaurant was quick to accommodate. Although the chowder was a starter on the menu, if I could have had a larger bowl, I would have. The entrées we had were very tasty. The waitress was very attentive. The chowder was thick, chunky, and delicious.

My wife treated me to a birthday meal. Was not disappointed. Service a bit scatty when we went in but think they were busier than they expected to be. An error made with our order but Manager/owner gave us complimentary deserts. Def will return, Had the seafood platter, A must have.

We were a little disappointed having received very good recommendations. The waitress was extremely friendly and quite efficient, could not do more for us. However we felt the food was not up to standard, especially the fish and chips. The batter was stodgy and possible fried in too low a heat.

I went to Monks once in the distant past and had a meal and an experience to remember. The atmosphere was electric, the food delicious. On this occasion, the decor was spartan, furniture and cutlery dated, and food disappointing. However, the waitress was friendly and efficient, and our food arrived quickly. Hence three stars instead of two. I ordered mussels.... More

Visited monks last night and was sadly disappointed with it. The service was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Better staff service in any burger king.No organisation of the staff. Had to ask for table to be cleaned after first attempt. Had to ask for cutlery. Never asked once if we were happy with food. Food was... More

The place is nicely situated by the bay, but inside is so and so decorated. We had sea food, nothing special at all, and very blandly prepared. Service was not that great either, contrasting with the many great experience we had on this Ireland trip.
