a simple pub, popular with tourist buses. kids menu is served with chips only. we did very much enjoy the crab claws in butter garlic sauce. best we had in Ireland. crab salad was only ok though. unfortunately many of their seafood dishes will not be served during lunch, but dinner only. very good fried hake.

My husband and I have a rule when we travel. Never eat at the same place twice. Well, we broke that rule with this place. It was so convenient to where we were staying and the seafood chowder was absolutely lovely! We just had to go back a second time. It is also in a really great location that you... More

Stopped here for lunch during our 16 day visit to Ireland. Our driver/guide recommended this place for its seafood chowder. Nice stop off along the waterfront - walked out on the pier. Everyone in our group of 8 had the chowder and all agreed this was the best chowder we had in Ireland - thick, creamy, big chunks of seafood,... More

When we are in Ireland we like to visit here and take visitors to Ireland with us . Have always had great food and great service, chowder a must have. Goat cheese starter and black pudding starter fab but a little big for one if having a Mains as well. Fish and chips portion big. Deserts too many nice ones... More

Every couple years we go to Ireland and we go to Monks. Heard the business changed hands and was different. We had good service and lovely fish and chips. Business was good and full. Still glad it was the same Monks for us, hope they can keep the tradition alive.

Great location. Very poor service- where do they get these people? My meal was ok but another member of our party was offered half cooked fish..in fact half frozen fish. Price was far too high. Will I be back: never

Located half way between Cliffs of Mohr and Galway, this is a nice little stop along the shore. Good location and quaint. Didn't try the chowder, but should have...the quay and sailboats beckoned. Bus did stop here and place was busy, but didn't hear any complaints. Outside seating area was a plus.

The food was fresh and tasty but we really felt unwanted. It felt like they are really only interested in the Coach tours. We arrived before a big party but they managed to serve them first which was really annoying it stopped us going back again

Great seaside locale. We had the seafood chowder and the codfish and chips, food was great, service was good, this is a great place to relax, get a bite to eat and enjoy a pint, along with great seaside scenery.

This was my second visit; the first was three years ago. It was just as I remembered. The seafood chowder was delicious and the customer service was excellent. It appeared from this visit, the staff try very hard to maintain their excellent reputation. The location and scenery added to the ambience!
