Nice lunch

Nice visit to Monk's, was recommended to try the chowder. I was a little disappointed but I did finish the bowl. Just a little too creamy for my liking. Beautiful setting.

We ate lunch here and it was delightful. We shared a big bowl of seafood chowder which was rich and creamy and filled with fish. Then we each got the child's portion of fish and chips which was enough for us.

Took a spin up to Ballyvaughan last week and stopped into Monks for lunch. I had the seafood chowder and my husband had the mussels. Both dishes were really tasty and so filling. The price is very good too and the service was excellent.

I had fond memories of this pub so went back this weekend for some pub grub! The decor inside has gotten a bit shabby. The staff were very friendly though and attentive. Ordered the mussels for starters which were good and a decent portion. We both had fish and chips for main course. The fish was lovely but the chips... More

Very disappointed with Seafood Chowder, very poor quality with a slice of lemon on top ! Male Toilets were filthy and stank ! Absolutely disgraceful to think that this is being offered to our tourists !

After a long, wet day of traveling, we stopped in Monk's for dinner. The chowders were just what we needed to warm us up. They were outstanding! The fish chowder was so fresh with hugh chunks of fresh fish and the beef stew was so flavourful! We selected a lovely wine with dinner and had to limit ourselves on the... More

i am vegan so had the stir fry, it was good but could have used a lot of spices. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was good. The recommend dish is this chowder so if possible order it.

We had dinner in Monks and it was delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. 4 of us ate there and each of us had a different main course and all of us cleared the plates with gusto. We had a delicious dessert and the staff were kind enough to put a candle in them for our friends birthday.... More
