Near Perfect

A great place to eat. Well served, a well planned menu and exceptional cooking. We liked the way table availability is managed so each course comes without undue delay, yet there is no sense of being hurried.

The food here is out of this world. We ordered from the 3 course a la carte menu and ended up with six courses. Each dish that came out was nicer than the last. The accompaniment's that came with the mains were incredible. The waitress we had was excellent. Very well trained and did a great job explaining the contents... More

We stayed in this hotel 2 nights and ate at the restaurant the first night. We had the three course a la carte menu which as other have said is really 6 courses with add ons from the chef. It was easily the best meal that we had in Ireland. The originality and the combinations of flavors in the dishes... More

Sometimes one goes out to eat just for a general social experience. The food is rarely better than you can make at home, if you takes the time but you may pick up some new ideas. You'd certainly pick up new ideas at Gregans Castle but you'd need a new kitchen as well, along with professional training. But even then... More

We had dinner at the hotel on our last night. We would have had the tasting menu, but the waiter said it took over 3 hours to finish, so we decided to go with the 3 course a la carte. With the additions from the chef, it was more like 6 courses....and still was over 2 hours. All was delicious... More

We went there on the June bank holiday weekend. The location is excellent with great views from the restaurant. While the tasting menu will set you back €85 per person it's a wonderful experience full of surprises, great tastes & fun visuals. The courses kept on coming - 9 in all - the conversation flowed and 4 hours later feeling... More

Had a night out with work. We decided to indulge our palets with the taster menu. Out of this world. Foods I'd never tasted before. Desserts willy wonka would drool at. A little gem looking out on the burren

After being turned down from two other restaurants in Lisdoonvarna, we were recommended to Gregans Castle Hotel for a weeknight meal. We didn't have a reservation (which I highly recommend as most of the tables will be occupied by guests of the hotel), but they generously accommodated us for an early dinner while meeting our needs for a gluten-free meal.... This is a lovely place that is over 300 years old. So much character! Definitely a treat! We had the 9 course meal and it was fabulous--took awhile but you will want to savor every bite! Breakfast was amazing! Service was top notch - Ken was so kind!
