Nice but expensive

We visited the Tea and Garden Rooms in Ballyvaughen during a trip around the Burren. The restaurant is very well presented and clean. The staff were pleasant and helpful. They have nice selection of sandwiches and some delicious cakes. My only criticism would be that it very expensive. We had... read more

In a wonderful setting - gardens overlooking the harbor as you drive out of Ballyvaughan) this restaurant served us the most delicious lunch. The ambience is perfect. We had a homemade lemonade (lemon, orange and grapefruit infused), a delicious soup and sandwich, and a lovely cappuccino. We enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant.

Walking up the path this place looked great. When we got inside the door we stood at the "wait here to be seated sign". For a while. Eventually a member of staff asked if we were being looked after, and said "X will be with you soon, she's around somewhere". Soon was quite a wait, and when X did arrive... More

I love this restaurant and always take visitors there as part of a tour of the Burren. Over many years, it has been lovely, hit and miss, then wonderful (2013) and now less so. My husband and I took my mum there in July, and for the price, the food portions were very small. A piece of fish pie with... More

In a beautiful setting, this "tea house" has an extensive menu served by a friendly staff. I went with a group of friends, having already emailed our food choices. I just loved the whole ambience of the place, even though it was chock-a-block busy (good for the owner - who I met outside, a gentleman). If you're in the area,... More

I went here with my son for a treat after a long cycle around the burren. The place is very cute & has a nice warm feel to it. We were seated out in the sunroom which is lovely. I was very happy with my cherry cheesecake it was very fresh & had that nice home cooked taste to it.... More

Ballyvaughan boasts sublime scenery and now an excellent tea room. Beautiful food, beer and excellent helpful staff. Don't miss lunch here even if you have to queue a while it's so worth it. Garden is the best around and sit out back if you get some sunshine. Desserts are too good!

The owner at one of our B&B's in Doolin recommended this cute little tea room. Wonderful Irish food (delicious soups, sandwiches, salads) and the desserts were just off the chart yummy! We sat out in the glassed-in porch looking out onto the lovely gardens. Be sure to stop here!
