Just mentioning in advance: We're free-from diners - dairy-free. This can pose a challenge for restaurants in Ireland. In the past, a main course might come, as instructed, free of butter, but the vegetables would be bathed in the stuff. This has become much better in recent years. We spent 2 weeks all over ireland. This was the best meal we had the whole time, including fishy fishy in Kinsale. Excellent wait staff. The only knock was that the Guinness was not poured according to the Guinness standards, but the food and atmosphere were excellent.

Booked for first sitting on a sat night, we walked into this quirky converted old chapel and The restaurant was busy but the staff were still attentive and polite. The menu was varied and had a good selection of dishes to satisfy all tastes. I chose a fillet steak which was cooked beautifully. The house wine was also very good... More

Excellent in every way. We were welcomed in the bar, where we enjoyed drinks and perused the menu. The day was one of the hottest in record in Cashel, but the staff took heroic steps to keep us comfortable. The bar and restaurant are in an old church, and the thick walls help keep it cool; in addition, there were... More

What a wonderful experience! Interesting atmosphere (a converted church/chapel), wonderful meal, and excellent service, friendly and pleasant staff. My husband forgot his hat and our server went our of her way to find us outside and return it. Chez Hans was listed in our guide book and was close to our B&B. Entire meal from starters to sweets was excellent.... More

Have been to Chez Hans many times over last 5 years. Every visit is equally memorable and fabulous. Every item on the menu is presented with such careful though, even the humble mushroom soup is a delicacy! Steaks are fantastic, wine list is excellent (although their sparkling wine isn't great, but champagne selection is better), desserts are a triumph (try... More
