Fabulous Restaurant

We had dinner in this special restaurant while in Cashel. It was quite the unique experience and we enjoyed every minute of it. When you arrive you sit in the bar area. The food was incredible - from the bread, to the starters, to the main dishes and desserts! We had a great time!! The service was great and the atmosphere was excellent. The dining experience itself is unique because the restaurant is in an old beautiful church! The Barbury Duck Cooked Two Ways was incredible and the " Tree" Chocolate Desserts... More

Chez Hans is housed in an old church just down the road from the Rock of Cashel. Food was delicious and the service was very good. Would definitely recommend. Reservations would be encouraged.

We have visited this restaurant every year whilst holidaying in Waterford. The setting of a former church is beguiling and creates a super atmosphere. Coupled with welcoming and knowledgeable staff, especially the wine waiter with whom I had a long enjoyable exchange about red wines. Food was to die for and generous in measure. Never been disappointed at this venue.

Went back here to see if the home made bread is still as good today as it was back then over 20 years ago! Good news, it was. Garret was a star and made me feel welcome even though I was on my own. In fact apart from the fact that other guests looked at me, I didn't feel awkward... More

As others describe, CHans is an incredible meal in an incredible venue, at the foot of a would-be Hollywood movie set!! The Rock of Cashel looms overhead in all its historical greatness announcing your own memorable foodie experience to come! Whatta trip! If you can, get there before the 7:00 end of Early Dining, it'll save you a few euro.... More

This place if first class. You start in the lounge area with a drink and or starter, from there they take you to the restaurant area which once was a church, it's fabulous. The food was as gourmet, your taste buds will go crazy!

by long threatening I mean over 40 years. we first encountered Chez Hans as an unmarried couple who would not have been eating in fancy restaurants very often but this one impressed us and we often spoke of going back to relive our youth. well we did, on a Friday evening we strolled into Cashel from our accommodation and were... If it was possible to give 6 out of 5, this is the sort of place you do it. This restaurant is amazing. It's our family's "special occasion" restaurant, and in 20 years has never disappointed. Top class food all the way, lovely surroundings, whether it's a celebration or a dinner for two, this place has it all. One of... More

The bar area is very atmospheric and promised a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant itself did not quite have the same atmosphere. However, the food was good and the service was excellent.
