I have eaten here for many years and this is one of the best restaurants in the country. Michael and his team are excellent. Great service, great food and impossible to leave hungry. All freshly cooked food and a great choice. A must visit in my opinion.

This is my second time at the Village Restaurant. I went previously with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided to go to for mothers day. I have to admit I was a bit reluctant to bring the kids with me as being there before I got the impression they don't cater for kids. We booked a table for 6.30... More

We were a table of 5 for early bird. Very good choice on the menu especially starters and mains. The waiting staff were very efficient and friendly. Portions are very generous with sides also included in price. The dessert menu was disappointing- it seriously needs updating. This restaurant is situated in a lovely village beside a small stream and was... More

I just said I'd give credit to this restaurant for a fantastic meal. It's a long time since I've had a dinner as nice and I'll know where to go again.Dinner for four on saturday nite generous portions and a seriously tender steak ,followed by what seamed to be a real homemade desert.☺Top marks alround from all at our table.... The village restaurant serves 4 star food but the eating experience is 2 star.It is no longer good enough to serve decent food, plenty of your competitors can do that! SO WHATS THE PROBLEM? The main dining area is awful. It is soulless, cold, dull.No effort has been made to dress the tables..boring boring boring. No candles, flowers or any attempt to... More

We ate here on Thursday evening and it was a real treat. The menu is creative, perfectly executed and very good value. Even though there were only 5 tables full, the atmosphere was lovely. Great food, great service. We will definitely return.

Enjoyed a fine meal well presented and excellent service. The helpings were more than adequate and the 3 course evening meal is good value. Wine is somewhat on the expensive side though.

This used to be a favourite of ours and we went quite often but since our kids came along we just didn't get the time. We were quite excited to finally eat here again last week and we weren't disappointed. The staff were very friendly and the place felt welcoming as always. The food was as delicious as we remembered... More
