Had a Staff night out in Hatters Bistro. The food was very nice and they had a great value menu. The only complaint was the main courses didn't come with any vegetables and the sides are extra. The bill was quite expensive as a result but the quality of food was very good. - You get what you pay for!!

Just had one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Staff very attentive, great service and all served with perfect timing. Nice surroundings and a great town centre location. You get value for your money really reasonable including a bottle of wine. Will be back not to be missed.

We found ourselves by chance here one-day. We were drinking in the bar above when I noticed on TripAdvisor the great reviews for Hatters Bistro. We were not let down, the food was delicious, I had the teriyaki steak and my partner ate the fish of the day. The food was of a high quality. The waiting staff were very... More

We were passing through Athlone and stopped for a quick bite. Our friend from Athlone recommended this place to us. I had a main course pasta that was absolutely delicious, my partner had only a starter both of us really enjoyed it. Atmosphere and decor in this restaurant is amazing, our waitress Patricia was just great, very helpful and lovely... More

I am local but had not eaten in Hatters in years, for no particular reason. I love the cosiness of the restaurant and is a lovely location for couple’s more than large groups given its nooks and crannies. Our meal was absolutely fab. My main course, which was a special on that evening, of cod on a bed of braised... More

Our (very old) guide book told us that Athlone was drab and dreary and not worth a visit. We beg to differ. We had a drink in the oldest bar in Eire then went on to Hatters which was recommended by a local We found it a very sophisticated and welcoming dining place with great decor The quality of waiting... We picked Hatters for a meal after work. The restaurant is really nice, with red and white checked table cloths, a feel at home atmosphere. The menue is varied, an there is also a menu of the day. I had soup of the day that was absolutely gorgeous, and a perfect hamburger, including chips and onion rings. Good service as... More

Two visits within a week. Enjoyed the Early Bird menu and it was terrific value! Booking is essential especially from & including Thursday to Weekend, as this place fills up very quickly.

A real hidden gem and what sets it apart is not just the excellent quality of the food but the first class customer service. Nothing was too much trouble and it is hard to understand why this restaurant is not ranked number one in the town. After my superb meal I spent the rest of the night in the adjoining... More
