Centrally located but hidden away this is a great find. Brilliant food and excellent service a must every time we visit Athlone on business. Looking forward to going back in the near future.

We nearly missed this restaurant as it is not right in the middle of town, but were so glad that we found it. The food was excellent, we had one of the set mezzes and everything went together really well. The waitress was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food. The interior is really charming and we were trying... More

Absolutely amazing!!! A MUST visit while in Athlone!!!!! The food is just so fresh and really tasty, there is a lovely vibe from all the staff, and seems like they really work well together and last but not least, their prices are super!! Very reasonable!!! Would love if they set up shop in Dun Laoghaire/Dublin!!!! Do It!! ;-)

My partner and I have been meaning to visit this restaurant for some time. I am only sorry that it took us so long. It's a small restaurant with a good atmosphere. The waiter was friendly and knew what he was doing, there was no rushing us to order, etc. I had the Beef Stew and spiced potatoes with chilli... More

We decided to visit Al Mezza on a Saturday night for some exotic lebanese food. Unfortunately that was not the case... The portions were tiny and the food was extremely blant and spicy if that can be ever achieved.. All of our dishes felt like they were microwaved frozen meals with a bit of seasoning on top... In general the... More

Hi Mia, thanks for your review, even though it was far from positive. I am the chef for the restaurant and would just like to take a moment to respond to some of your points; while as a chef I appreciate that not everyone has the same palate, your claim that the food was "bland and spicy" is vague and... We enjoyed lamb, chicken and prawn with lots of veggie dips and other delights. All were reasonable in price and super tasty. The place was cosy even though quiet and service was excellent. It felt more like the eastern Med than midlands Athlone. This restaurant is well worth checking out - maybe leave the cocoon of the hotel restaurant and seek... More

Been there few times, last time food was superb, tasty, four of us had starter, main course, dessert, coffee and two battles of wine, all this for less than 140e. Service excellent, girls polite, clean, food really nice, nothing spectacular but again I wan't to go there again and again and again :)

I love Lebanese food and this restaurant was really nice. I had a vegetarian platter with loads of different things and it was really good!

This restaurant is the best place in Ireland to have a Lebanese food. I had been there for 6 times and every time I enjoy the food. It is really delicious , tasty and good value for money. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody visiting Athlone.
