Excellent food! Is not cheap but it's worth !!! Chef provides in menu much infornacji - gives even local farms whose products (beef, for example) were used to prepare this meal. The restaurant is a little small - could to be a little bigger. A great place for special occasions.

I had the Hake main (minus the chorizo) and my husband had the lamb. We shared a chocolate fondant dessert (which was to... More

We specifically picked our places to visit in Ireland based on location and food reputation. Athlone has been mentioned on many food blogs and travel guides in the US and so we couldn't wait to visit. We chose Thyme based on the reviews from many others on multiple sites and were excited to taste some of Chef John Coffey's creations.... More

I've been here many times but my latest visit was a girls evening out to celebrate my friend's birthday, we went for early bird and the choices were just superb, I didn't feel like I was missing out as the really nice dishes on the a la carte were on the early bird too, I went for hake scampi followed... The steak had great flavor and was so tender. we will definitely be back. It was the best meal we have had in Athlone in a long long time... More

Returned after a 2 year gap, and restaurant just as good as first time, food and presentation was wonderful, had trouble selecting what dishes to have as the selection was so good. Took a couple of friends with us who live in the area and they were equally impressed. Cant wait to return next time I'm in Ireland

I recently celebrated an great family occasion at Thyme. We had a fantastic time. 5 adults and 3 kids and we all enjoyed our meals from stat to finish...very unusual for us! The vlue memu lists most of the items on the a la carte menu and so this is the way to go for best value. The portions are... More
