Good pub

The food is good and the Guinness is great. We have been loving next door for a few days and come in almost every night. And I'm sure we'll be back!

We had a great traditional Irish night at the Abbey Tavern as part of an organised trip. The food was excellent, the Guinness good, the music and dancing great and the whole staff team provided great service to the whole group. The landlord Richard was brilliant, welcoming us all on our arrival and seeing us all off at the end... More

Wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful tavern. This is obviously a place where the locals like to go since the staff seemed to know mostly everyone. Great service and loved browsing the whiskey menu!

We went there on sunday due to the ratings on tripadvisor. Definitely worth a visit! We ordered guiness and Coke and had to wait a few minutes to get our drinks. Very friendly staff. A lot of guests seem to live in Howth - which always is a good sign ;-) We had "Guinness beef pie and "chicken supreme" and... More

I went into Abbey Tavern for a spot of lunch after a day out. The menu is varied and very nice. I had the lemon sole goujons to start, they were excellent. Main of pan-fried hake was really good too. Service was very good. The background music was really relaxing too and there was a lovely atmosphere. The only downside... More

This is a nice place to stop for lunch if you're in Howth. Because its not facing onto the harbour it tends to be quieter than some of the other places. The food is good and reasonably priced an the staff are chatty and helpful.

Great ambiance right next door to a view of the abbey and town of Howth and view of the surrounding town and sea. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. The shrimp cocktail tasted plastic! The got the beer right so stick to drinks!
