During our last night in Dublin we visited the Abbey Tavern for dinner and a show. For a dinner theatre, the food was surprisingly good; service was excellent; and the entertainment was fabulous -- singing, dancing, music, audience participation.

Delicious chowder to start followed by a beautifully presented Fisherman's Platter and Darne of Salmon. The best seafood around!! Wait staff were super friendly - excellent customer service. There was a great buzz in the place, full of locals and tourists alike all having a great afternoon.

The bartender was super friendly and helpful. He suggested I try a Guiness and gave me a small sample first. He instructed me to wait for it to settle and then sip. It was delicious! I ordered a half pint with the seafood chowder. The chowder was packed with large seafood bits and came with that yummy Irish brown bread.... More

Called in at the The Abbey Tavern on a day out from Dublin on the Dart. Was intending having a drink maybe and then sauntering to the next hostelry but ended up staying for dinner. Very welcoming with friendly, chatty and funny waiting staff, especially Nessa who gets 5* for her witty banter. Would recommend to anyone. Our lads said... More

We didn't come for food but for a couple of drinks. We are a group of six German friends and we gave this Dublin trip as a birthday gift to our guitar teacher, who loves Irish Pubs and Irish Music. He fell in love with the antic looking lanterns on the table, so I asked one of the waiters (maybe... More

Attended a pre-wedding event here for 40 people and everybody was well taken care of. Food was good, service was good. We were also treated to some Irish music and dancing which was very entertaining, also. Bar very good for dropping in for a pint or a drink any time. Loved it here.

An authentic tavern with a nice interior and a great variety of fish dishes. Might be a little bit pricey yet this can be compensated by the size and the taste of the dish.

Food was great. Fish n' Chips, Lasagne and Lemon Sole Goujons.!! Our only fault was service. Staff were quite messy in presentation and often blunt, when we entered we were neither welcomed nor acknowledged, but other than that, food could not be faulted.
