Loved the setting of the Abbey Tavern. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The wait staff and the bar staff were great. They were very helpful. They answered all of our questions as we were trying to make our lunch selections which turned out to be great. Although there was a party in progress we never felt... More

Good hospitality and good food. Wonderful location near the Abbey. From the moment we arrived were made to feel welcome. Food was hearty and delicious. My friends whose wedding celebration it was they could not have done more for - they are a must for events planning! We had Eurovision on and they made sure that we could view it.... More

Loved it - wonderful atmosphere, warm and welcoming staff, really delicious food, good value Louis Latour wines, and a fabulous private dining room upstairs for our celebration. Delighted to have found it - can't wait to go again in a smaller group, loved the cosy feeling in the pub downstairs.

The moment you enter the Abbey Tavern you know you're visiting somewhere special. Quite unique. Historic building with all the warmth of a real Irish Bar and restaurant. Staff are very friendly and the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome as he sets a frenetic pace in good old fashioned hospitality. Food was out of... More

I'm in the country for a 6 week study abroad program, for our first night meal out we wanted to get some good Irish food in the classic pub atmosphere and not in some touristy 'pub' but in a place the locals go. This restaurant was lively, had good attentive wait staff, a bar area with the pub feel and... More

We went to the Abbey Tavern with our group of 85 for a typical Irish dinner and show. Im not one for the typical tourist trap but I went along after others complained I wasn't going. We pulled up to the pub but we couldn't see the port just below the pub. Once in the Tavern, it was a standard... More

The Abbey Tavern was opening just as the skies opened up and we were walking by. It was very fortuitous because we had a wonderful lunch. Great fresh fish and good service!
