We visited this cafe for lunch and were very impressed by the quality of the food. The cheese tarts were absolutely delicious and made with local cheeses. The salads and coffees were good too. The staff were pleasant and the atmosphere was good, and busy, as clearly the locals in Thomastown know a good thing when they see it. It... More

This place is a joy! Just about everything is home made. Fresh and tasty soup and salads, sandwiches, cakes and excellent coffee. What more can you want ... yes atmosphere ... and it's got that too. Love it - this is our third time visiting and it never fails to please. One point is that the cafe is small but... More

We've ordered coffee cake and chocolate cake. The coffee cake was nice but the chocolate one was too dry. Tasted a bit like leftover. The place is nice and cute but as we arrived 1 hour before they were supposed to close there were not many nice things as options.

We stopped there of a quick lunch on the road. Good soup, good choice of tasty sandwiches, good cakes (which seems to be a common and pleasurable habit in Ireland !). Nice service, fair prices, lovely decoration.

All home made or made from scratch dishes. My wife and I had soup and then split a sandwich so we could have room for the desserts. A VERY good decision as the sandwich is very generous.

We had wanted to go to Sol Bistro but it is closed Monday and stopped in the Blackberry Cafe for a light lunch. The tomato basil soup was quite nice and the chicken soup was also very fresh-tasting. Bread seemed newly-baked. Lovely desserts. Worth a visit.

Food is absolutely amazing my teenagers love going in for lunch. Unfortunately the service and staff are appalling. On our most recent visit we watched staff argue with the owner Jackie. Our waitress messed up our order completely, but we were starving so just ate.

Had read about the Blackberry Cafe and had to go, we were not disappointed. We had to wait to get in as it was full when we arrived, not a bad sign. When we did get seated and our coffee and cake arrived they were super, good coffee and super cake. Service was very good and there was lots of... More

Stopped on the way to Kilkenny after night ferry, had to wait for it to open 9:30am but it was worth it, breakfast was delicious and a great pot of tea. Service wasn't overly friendly (for Ireland!) but pleasant. A must stop if you're passing through, also on the 'Kilkenny food trail' which is well worth following!!
