Our hostess at our B&B indicated Murphy's as being a good place to eat. That was an understatement! We decided to share the seafood platter because of the variety offered, and we were not disappointed. Each item was prepared and cooked to perfection. Although each table was filled, service was quick and efficient. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, and gladly... More

Brilliant soup! Loved the panini - chicken and stuffing, yum! Always busy so booking ahead is a good idea!

We stopped here for dinner after a tour of the beautiful Ring of Beara!! Unfortunately we got a flat outside of town. Anthony O'Regan of O'Regan's Garage in Castletownbere was a lifesaver and he recommended Murphy's. We were not disappointed!! It is located on the pier and the seafood was nice and fresh. The owner John Murphy stopped by our table.... More

We visited Murphy's on 7 September. We ordered off the special board and had the Pork dinner and the Lamb dinner. Both meals were very good, served hot, and we finished everything. Delicious home cooked meal!! We met the owner, John Murphy, who stopped by our table. He was very friendly and was helpful to our questions. The restaurant was... More

We are bikers who arrived in Castletownbere today Sunday 7th Sept, 2014 to find that no place was open for lunch except we were directed to Murphys by some locals. The staff were welcoming & friendly & the food was excellent & good value. I had the Roast Lamb which came with a variety of 4 different veg & mashed... More

Dropped in here for lunch while passing through on the Ring of Beara. We got the Sea Food Chowder and a toasted cheese and onion sandwich which were delicious. Best thing about the restaurant was the service and friendliness of the staff, we had such a laugh with who could possibly have been the owner. Will definitely be back next... More

Good food, nothing spectacular, but best place to eat in Beara. They could upgrade to more interesting dishes, but why bother, the competition is light years behind. Good plain ordinary food at reasonable prices for rip-off Ireland. No surprises on the positive or negative sides.

We ate very well at Murphy's, the service is excellent and there is a wide variety of choice in the menu. The atmosphere is formal but playful at the same time. The owner entertained us and it was very funny. Recommended!

An OK place but the food was average and the service wasn't much better. There aren't many places to eat in Castletownbere - this restaurant is probably the best in town but isn't great. Reliably reasonable food.

Seafood was the highlight at Murphy's Restaurant food wise, but that was just part of the experience. The staff and the owner, John were great hosts. After closing the all the staff participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge, and even helped with our own challenge. A memorable night and deserved top marks fow Murphy's
