We drove from Baltimore to Arundels for lunch on Saturday 2 January. My sister and I are really fussy about chowder but on my recommendation we both ordered it. We were not disappointed it is definitely the best chowder we have ever had. It is full of fish and is worth a visit if you are in area. We will... More

we found this little pub when on our way back from an extremely wet and windy walk on Sheeps Head Peninsula. disappointing that there was no open fire but did manage to dry off by the radiator. Internal decor was utilitarain but the bar was friendly and warm. Excellent food, good service and fantastic views out to sea. Would be... More

Ignore waht othere say - this really IS the best fish chowder in West Cork! Arundel's is as close as it gets to "my local" even though I live 40 mins away. Great location- next to the pier at Ahakista - out of the way but worth the trip. Great casual dining, good food, well kept beer, great welcome- what... More

We ate two very nice meals here on subsequent Sundays during a trip to Ireland in December 2015. The younger female server at our first meal was absolutely wonderful as was the man who I believe is thre manage who waited on us the second meal. Raspberry creme brulee for dessert was exceptional. Unmissable and scrumptious is the Durrus cheese... More

Second time lucky, the first time we tried to eat here it was full, so book if it's during the holiday season. Good seafood chowder, better than average pub food. Lovely position by the water.

We came for a set meal prior to going over to St Patrick's for Music by Candlelight. And, owing to local floods, we were an hour and a half late for our booking. No matter. Excellent starters - tiger prawns in chili sauce, and monkfish scampi. Chicken supreme really was supreme, as were the hake and the poached salmon. Lot... More

The quite good food was let down by the service. The location is lovely and the interior is attractive. But, unfortunately, the prices were not atall reflected in the service which was patchy and not professional.

Called in to Arundels on our way back to Bantry after visiting Sheeps Head. We were in need of some refreshment and food having expended a lot of energy walking from the car park to The Lighthouse at Sheeps Head. Noticed a sign on the road saying "Caution Waiters Crossing" and just past the sign we pulled into Arundels. I... More
