Very popular local restaurant

Had a great omelette of my choice for breakfast - the full Irish looked great too - this restaurant has been consistently serving the people of Bantry for many years

Visited Bantry in August and most restaurants.....well, we walked quite a bit and there didn't seem to be a great deal of them despite the apparent popularity of the town. We found De Barra's though and the staff were friendly, they did the usual fare of all day breakfasts and lunch specials. The food was fine and we came back... More

Visited mid week and was very impressed by the standard of food and service. The only negative would be the washrooms. A bit of talc would do wonders.

This is a very popular choice for locals. The staff are very pleasant, and the coffee choices are good. The food is pretty average, served in very ample portions! It is very conveniently located for the square and the shopping areas. I go there often, mainly for the coffee.

I'm a frequent visitor to De Barra's over recent years. Workingman's Breakfast is good value. Veggie is also good value and tasty. Good all round café with always friendly staff. Great cakes and deserts.

Myself and my husband visited Bantry yest(13/08),went to de barras for lunch,my husband ordered pork chops with side salad and chips, the side orders came first and then about ten mins later a bowl came with 3 miserable pork chips swimming in watery gravy and topped with onions and mushrooms to hide the overcooked and probably 3times reheated chops...he had to... Great coffee, and lovely staff in a quirky haphazard set up which works for the cafe, but the food is average.

The cafe is very plain and the interior simple. The young service is very friendly but could be more attentive. The menu card is clear and you get typical Irish food in good portions. Recommended good for a lunch or coffee and cake.

We dined here while on holiday, we were so hungry & were thrilled, the service was excellent, they cooked whatever suited the children, I had fish & it was fab. The vegetables were not your usual & were a great change from the norm. But best of all the price. Mains at 7pm were only 9/10 euro. I would dine... More

We called in today as a group of 5, late into the evening and close to closing time. The place was very quiet but soon became alive with a buzzing warm atmosphere. The menu was very simple and the staff were warm and welcoming with that simple Irish charm and smile that we all enjoy. The food order was quickly... More
