Pleasant bistro style cafe

Located in the heart of bantry this cafe is always a pleasant experience. It's a great venue to sip a coffee and people watch. Delicious veg soup always on offer.

My son and I visited this so-called restaurant and I asked the waitress about the fish…..was it in breadcrumbs or in batter? She said it is in breadcrumbs but that another fish option was available on the day’s ‘special’ menu: Deep fried haddock with tartar sauce. She said with great emphasis ‘it really is delicious’ and as my preference is... More

Ordered 2 soup for lunch with my friend, in Ireland its a given that you get soda bread with soup as well as saying it on the menu. Just before our food came out, we were told no soda bread but white sliced bread was available. I decided to cancel my order. My friend got his and five minutes later... More

The food here is excellent for the price and you can't beat the location. Friendly staff, clean and welcoming. Try it for breakfast or lunch or both!

On a drive from Macroom around Cork we stopped at Bantry and needed a snack. This lovely café was opposite where we parked and looked nice. Got scones and tea. Very nice. Good service. Scone was not heated but then again I never asked for it heated, but it was lovely regardless. Would return.

We looked for a good caffe latte, which was hard to find on Bantry, but the service in the De Barra's Cafe was very friendly, they gave us mild for our little son without charging it.

Stopped at De Barra,s on arrival at Bantry after a long drive and it set the tone for our stay in West Cork. The staff were so cheerful and friendly - I thought they must be mistaken us for people they knew !!. Really nice nice and chatty. Our waitress recommended places to visit and really made us feel welcome.... More
