We hadn't been to the Snug since last year. It was great to return again. Busy as the last time but we felt like we were the only couple in the restaurant. Food as always top class. Rack of lamb was the best. Can't wait to return in the summer.

Having visited many friends of my mothers after breakfast it was time for lunch, having walked in the place it is very busy when all said and done it is a bar and not a restaurant, the lunch specials are on the board to view, the problem is trying to find a place to sit the stools at the bar were... Visited April 7th. Met by the most disinterested waiter/bar man we have ever encountered with bordering on zero personality. No welcome or even slight conversation, just showed us to seats and handed us menus. Within 2 minutes he had returned to take our order which is nowhere near long enough to fully decide upon choices. Food itself was of a... More

Do not pass this place by, it truely is a must on anyone's visit to Bantry. Slip through the traditional Irish pub door that leads to a wooded wonderland of tree trunk tables and an overall tasteful decor. You are greeted by staff, that are very friendly and accommodating, regardless of age or group size. The food was simply the... More

More pub than restaurant and Mary was amazing at ensuring all got seated and fed. Food was fine but don't expect finesse just a good feed. Locals seem to eat here which is always a good sign.

Reccommended to us by the friendly lady who owns Eileen's pub on the Sheeps head peninsula, The Snug was a compact eatery which provided friendly service. If somewhat lacking in charm and friendliness, the service was quick and the portions were generous, challenging even the hungry men to finish their plates. Worth noting that if sitting at the tables at... More
