Good Place for Lunch and a Brew

If you are in Bantry around lunchtime, stop into the Snug. There are several "snugs" (booths). We enjoyed the open face crab sandwich, tuna melt, and open face tuna. Wash it all down with a Smithwicks and you'll be ready for the afternoon!

First time visit, with wife, based on several recommendations. Was slightly disappointed with The Snug. Called beforehand to check; they wouldn't take a booking but said come now (we were 10 mins drive away) and you'll be OK. Got there and found the only place available was rather uncomfortable high chairs at a bar with a (literal) bar at the... More

I recently went to the Snug for a family dinner and, as always, it was one very delicious meal! The staff were very attentive and friendly and looked after us very well. We were waiting quite a bit for our food as the restaurant was full but it was worth it. I ordered the burger with bacon and cheese. I... More

I have never before received food so hot. Cooked & straight out. Massive portions, you could share the starters between two. Great value for money. Came here last Sunday got the wings & mushrooms to start & two roast lambs for main. The new potatoes with the gravy made it for me. Defiantly coming back soon. "The Sung" is such... More

As previous reviews testify, leave the diet at the door! The chowder was delicious as a starter. But the burgers!! What can I say? This was a meat feast! We had to be rolled out the door!! Helpful staff and a quaint, cosy setting. We won't eat for a week before we return. Enjoy!!

We ate here late on a Friday afternoon. Place was very quiet, meal was solid if not spectacular. Fish and Chips, Chowder were very good.

We were traveling with friends who had dined at The Snug on a previous trip. We decided to make The Snug our stop for our first dinner of our stay in Bantry. It also became our spot for night two and night three! Great food, friendly staff, a true Irish pub feel! Plan on an early dinner or make a... More

Arriived later afternoon , place was packed. Managed to get seats at the bar (they do take bookings, so much advised during the summer) and the service was prompt. Chowder was superb and the homemade brown bread was to die for. Main meals looked top notch, will be back.
