Fun pub - Offers Live Music, for a PRICE

Everyone talks about Ma Murphy's so we thought we would check it out. The place is nice, interesting and very friendly. We were looking for live music and they had it, but it cost money to see it as they put it in a separate room. That's where the action was. The music was not to our taste so we... read more

Bantry's oldest bar is a grand wee place to go for a couple of beers. Really friendly staff and lots of locals out enjoying their night out, including a drumming group! We were there on a rather "soft" evening so not able to enjoy the outside tables but sure it must be a lovely sheltered spot on a sunny day.

This is your classic traditional irish pub. Small dark and rustic! Both times i was here it got very busy so it was difficult to get drinks but the pub is great!

Love this place. One of the few remaining shop/pub examples. Nice cozy atmosphere and great outdoor garden area in the back. Also they serve a good variety of local craft beers both in bottle and draft. Irish pubs are finally starting to expand their beer selection and in my mind that is a great thing.

Very traditional bar with friendly service. Pie at lunchtime were Ok, but this is a place for drinking, not fine dining!

Great place to sit and enjoy a cold craft beer. The beer garden was very comfortable. Great characters and very friendly.

I do not like crowded pubs and this is the first time I have actually been inside Ma Murphys. I really enjoyed the experience. Its a real pub and not a theme Park. It has a lively and vibrant atmosphere. The staff despite being very busy were cheerful and took time to chat. There is plenty of rooms and an... More

We were down for the weekend and my hubbie was keen to call in here as he had been told that it was an old fashioned traditional pub. That's fine, but I did think that would mean a choice of Heineken or Heineken for me if I wanted a glass of lager. How wrong I was. Couple of nice craft... More

This is a great little pub. The landlord and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door. Good beer garden out the back too. I can see why it is rated so highly.
