Original, dark and atmospheric is the best way I could describe ‘Ma Murphy’s’, if you like the feeling of the old authentic Irish pub then this place fits the bill, on entering you pass through the original shop area (not really used as such nowadays) then through doors to the bar and it’s a real blast from the past a... Dropped in here for after meal drinks. Top class beer garden/smoking area. Vintage whiskies on offer. Cool and courteous staff. Old style pub with lots of curios to look at. Would recommend!

Had a fantastic time at Ma Murphy's to celebrate my boyfriends birthday amongst friends. The atmosphere there was great. I could not get over the generosity and kindness of the staff who gave the birthday boy treats and a free pint! The staff were lovely except for one staff member who was extremely rude to us (man, dark short hair... More

The staff were great, the choices of beers were great and the old world look was fab. I went in a lunch time and there was and old man there with his grand daughter and all he wanted to do was sing songs, he gave a great rendition of the Rose of Tralee in the lowest voice I have ever... More

This is a genuine old "Irish" pub with a great atmosphere. Very relaxed and friendly. A good mix of locals and tourists. Great for a laid back pint. Cool in a grungy sort of way. Kids loved it too. Not for you if you want a high end furnishings or are fussy (e.g. toilets not the best). Would probably eat... More

This is a brilliant traditional Irish pub - with a grocery store in the front section! The main bar becomes very crowded, but there is a back room, an outside area, and also a separate function room, where traditional music is often played. The publican and bar staff are excellent - as are the beers, both bottled and draft!

Great evenings, chatting with the locals and enjoying traditiional music. The people are warm and friendly and always have a tale to tell. Ma Murphys gets very busy and it may take a while to get served but the music bar at the back attracts singers and musicians and we were lucky enough to enjoy some talented violinists who were... A really authentic Irish pub with friendly staff and chatty customers. Sadly, no live music on the night we went, but I bet it has a real buzz on the nights when there is music. Definitely worth popping in for a pint of the black stuff when in Bantry.
