Great evenings, chatting with the locals and enjoying traditiional music. The people are warm and friendly and always have a tale to tell. Ma Murphys gets very busy and it may take a while to get served but the music bar at the back attracts singers and musicians and we were lucky enough to enjoy some talented violinists who were... A really authentic Irish pub with friendly staff and chatty customers. Sadly, no live music on the night we went, but I bet it has a real buzz on the nights when there is music. Definitely worth popping in for a pint of the black stuff when in Bantry.

A warren of little rooms and a saloon bar lead on to a beer garden and then a back room where impromptu fiddlers are gathered. What a treat, we were jam packed with locals and visiting musicians and everyone talked to everyone. The bar staff were vocal and friendly and there was a terrific atmosphere in the place. We left... Lovely old bar in central Bantry town. Good Guinness, beer and friendly service. Also sells sweets and groceries. Bar has many cosy corners. I cannot recommend this pub enough.

Being a regular at Ma Murphy's for some years now, I have never experienced hospitality like this. Welcoming, like a long lost family member every time, whether it be Mary, Sean or the delightful Bill! A destination for tourists & loved by locals. Can't beat it!

A proper pub, friendly staff with a nice range of drinks. Folk club welcomed strangers like lost relatives. The ridge in the selling out shop is 72 years old - amazing place.

We went as a group of 24 to the near empty pub after lunch. Only five minutes after we arrived, the bartender warned us to buy drinks or leave. A few went to get drinks, while the majoriy was still thinking about which one when he came and told us to leave the pub in a snappy manner. Did not... More
