decent food

Called in for an evening meal after arriving in the area earlier that day. Order was taken and food soon arrived. Fish and chips were served in a small frying basket on a wooden board. Steak sandwich was also served on a wooden board. Both were cooked to our liking. Only comment i would make is... read more

This place is hidden away down a lane, so not the easiest to find for visitors to the town. Its more restaurant than bar, and I didn't like it. On my visit (lunch time) there were a load of school kids having lunch, some shoppers also having lunch, and a few die-hards drinking and totally absorbed on the horse racing... More

I was shocked at how terrible the service was when we went for breakfast. Firstly we noticed the only person working was a guy wearing jeans and a black leather jacket, he looked like someone who was in for an afternoon pint. No apron or anything that would be hygienic or distinguish him as working there. So we ordered a... More

We have visited the Paragon on several occasions whilst staying with relatives in the town. The food and service are consistantly high and always served quickly. The pub has a nice friendly atmosphere and everyone is made welcome.

My wife and I have eaten here on a number of occasions on our visits to Skibbereen.on the outside you might be forgiven for thinking" what a scruffy place this must be" Venture in for a warm welcome and excellent food with plenty of variety and always plenty on your plate

We enjoyed the dinner in the Paragon Bar, we had hamburguer and beers, everything shrouded in a nice atmosphere with a value price.

Busy bar restaurant just off public car park in town centre. Even though it was midweek it was quite busy at lunchtime. Reasonably good choice on lunch menu and service was good. Excellent plate of properly cooked food and portions were quite large. Will visit again.
