Worth the drive

Most tourists go to Killorglin for the Goat Fair. We went for Lidl. And just across the road from the supermarket we pitched into Bunkers for a bite. Just the job. Nothing fancy, but warm, efficient service - and my cheese and Kerry ham baguette was as good as I've eaten anywhere.

bunkers is by far the best value for money around, the meals are excellent quality and decent portion size, there is also a good selection of dishes on the menu/. the staff are so friendly and helpful.

I would give this very good on the basis of the atmosphere and friendliness of the waitresses. The food was just ok but efficiently served to us. It has a nice warm cosy feel in the establishment. Fine for a coffee and a snack but main meals were pretty average. The staff were very friendly and helpful and seemed knowledgeable.

Stopped in for lunch to Bunkers, Killorglin last month while on a trip to Kerry. We had a lovely meal - the menu options were great, the food was excellent and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. My review would not be complete without mentioning the apple pie which was without a doubt the best I've ever had -... More

the location is what its all about, it looks so pretty from the outside and the wait staff could not do enough for us. the menu is vast and very promising but a little on the expensive side for a pub side restaurant. The boy (2) had spag bol, from the kiddie menu, priced at a huge price of €7... More

We travel all over the world and eat out 300 nights a year.We visited Ireland for 4 days and shouted a family member out to dinner - we left the very next day for the UK -without knowing they sent the cops around to my family and accused him of not paying and demanded proof of payment. I am so... More

We spent time 3 evenings at Bunkers. Ger, the barman , was very engaging and we had a great discussion of Irish whiskies. Great service from Teresa. Desserts from cafe next door were excellent.

Had a long leisurely Full Irish Breakfast, sitting in the window looking out at the new Square. Was still at lunch time when the entire place filled up with mostly locals, a good sign for any eatery. Grub & Atmosphere was good.
