Nicest starter I've ever tasted

We had dinner here one night and found the prices somewhat steep for a mediocre restaurant, consisting of a main course and a glass of house wine E50 + for two people.

We had lunch and dinner at the Derry Clare on multiple occasions during our week in Clifden. The food and service were the best that we experienced. We recommend this restaurant to you without hesitation. Enjoy and say "Hello" to Martin and his friendly staff for us. Dan and Deborah Ernst

We visited Clifden whilst touring the beautiful region of Connemara and stopped off at Derryclares for lunch. The four of us had great food with excellent service and good value. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the burgers with black pudding went down a storm, the chips did not appear to be frozen from a packet as we have... More

Staff were very friendly on arrival. We requested a table for 3 people and they put two tables together at the window. The menu was nice and simple and easy to make a choice. Two of the party had a glass of wine which came to the table promptly. We ordered main courses which came quite quickly. Generous portions and... More

Was looking forward to dining here. It started well with a lovely red wine but went down hill from there. Just ordered main courses, I had steak and it was very average, poorly presented, will a pool of watery "jus" served with baby potatoes and chips both bland but not a bit of veg which I had to ask for... My husband and I came across this restaurant while driving the Connemara. Lovely place, great service. Fresh, local food. Love to support locally sourced places! We had all vegetarian meals and they were flavorful and filling. Could not recommend more!

Great and wonderful food, oh my goodness! The outside seems quite unassuming and there were four in our party, with different tastes and desires for dinner. Everyone was thoroughly happy after such a fine meal, as everything was so fresh and very tastefully presented. A great place to spend an evening!
