Reviewed this pub last year and commented on the lack of Irish traditional music.Glad to see this has now been rectified. We dropped in last Thursday night and there was really good Irish traditional music being played. There was a good mix of both locals and tourists, all having good fun. The atmosphere was very friendly and the service provided by... More

As a group of four weary (but happy) travellers returning from a literary event in Newcastle West we reached Adare late afternoon on a Saturday and wanted something to eat. We had a quick look around and though not always enamoured of pub-grub we settled on Chawke's Bar. What a lucky choice, what a fine meal in a pub with... More

We stopped in a few times during our stay in Adare, and enjoyed each visit. There is a wonderful fireplace as you enter, a large bar, comfy seating throughout, and a pool table. The service is very friendly too, and there was a great live folk musician performing one evening. Overall, it was our favorite pub in Adare, and we... More

With several awards under its belt, this is a warm, friendly , traditional pub, with great food and a great atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, and dont be suprised if you get involved in real blast of a sing song once night time falls.

Many locals frequent this pub and for good reason. When I was here last week, there were three 20 something musicians having a grand old time playing trad music and everyone loved it. They were really grand! Big Al is a wonderful bartender -- happy and gregarious! Don't miss a pint here when you're in Adare!

average pub grub and average pub service. food was average....get the beef stew if you really need to fill up. stay away from the fish and chips very odd flavor to the batter. average service ...seems this is the norm for most pubs.

We stopped in for a drink here and wandered into their backyard outside area. Very nice for a drink outside if weather permits. Smoking permitted outside if this bothers you but there are plenty of tables to choose from. Great service, fun atmosphere. We did not eat here but the food looked good. Met an Irish couple traveling with their... More
