I expected a much more lively place going by the reviews, but an excellent pub. The guinness is top notch and the long thin bar is very original with loads of history. Service was friendly and prompt. I was staying just over the road and felt at home as soon as i walked in. Foodwise, the fish is very very... More

Without a doubt, the best Seafood Chowder in Kinsale. Had a nice walk out to the Spaniard, lovely welcoming place and people, Guinness good but the chowder was the highlight of the day. Thanks and keep it up.

We chose to walk from Kinsale to Fort Charles and stopped here for coffee and ended up ordering starters. Good food and service. Waitress even helped to keep us on the correct path to walk to the fort.

Ate lunch outside on a warm summer day. Fabulous mussels. Meant to return for a dinner, but couldn't fit it in. Too bad for me !

Have been to Kinsale many times but it was a few years since we'd been back. We went to the Spaniard to have crab claws but they were not even in the menu! We were so disappointed. No atmosphere in the place and we were attacked by wasps. Food was good, muscles were delicious but fish pie had too much... More

Asked bar man for bar menu. As he went to get it another Bar man (manager) told us if we wanted food to go into the restaurant. He said this as he looked at our 3 yr old daughter. Is it under new management? Pub empty and no-one sitting outside the pub at any stage. Bulman pub down the road... More

What can I say that hasn't been said before? This is one of the best pubs, if not the best in Kinsale. The beer is spot on (especially the smithwicks) the food fantastic - both bar and restaurant. In fact the chowder is amazing and has to be ordered when we go back! The little nooks are great to sit... More

We drove to The Spaniard from Cork Airport for a Live music dinner. The dinners was great (I loved it but my wifes meal was average according to her;) as was the service. There was no live music at the dinner which was a bit of a dissapointment. But there was live music in their bar (in the other part... More
