Great

I've eaten in both the bar and restaurant and have always been pleased. The food is good quality and it's reasonably priced. The bar is good and the outdoor seating is wonderful on a sunny day.

We visited The Spaniard on St. Patrick's Day as we didn't want to hassle with the crowds in downtown Kinsale. It's the oldest pub in Kinsale and not only has a great atmosphere but the food was pretty good too. Had a seafood chowder that would give chowders from Maine a challenge for the best.

Stopped here for light lunch last Friday whilst visiting Kinsale. Parking wasn't great but that aside we enjoyed the experience very much. The bar-man clearly enjoyed his job, he was friendly, chatty & had a great "presence", nothing was too much trouble. We both had the steak sandwich, lovely juicy steak in a Panini, with side-salad & chips, really lovely.... More

Have been to the Spaniard a number of times for lazy lunch. Lovely setting in the especially in the off season. Warm, cosy and lovely sea food and a good pint of Murphys. Highly recommend it for couple on a cold afternoon.

If you are visiting Kinsale then you must visit THE SPANIARD. We only went there for a few drinks but loved it. the locals were very friendly and the open fire was very welcoming on a cold winters night.

We ha d a couple of pints here before heading over to Man Fridays for dinner and then ate lunch here the next day before leaving Kinsale. This is a real Irish local pub, not a fake or trendy pastiche......the real deal. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere was excellent.

We had a lovely afternoon stop at the Spaniard after visiting the nearby Charles Fort. The publican was very friendly and chatty, as were the other patrons. While sitting by the fire, we enjoyed their company and conversation, some beer, hot drinks, toasted sandwiches and veggie soup (pretty basic but delicious fare given their kitchen was closed). Note they don't... More

I've eaten in the bar before and really enjoyed the fish pie. Decided to take my wife and daughter who were over for the weekend and this time we ate in the restaurant which is absolutely lovely. I've been for a drink many times, but had no idea the restaurant was so nice ! The food was excellent, my wife... More

The Spaniard boasts two open fires and super Guinness served by local lad Ian . Its gets a lot of local trade ,and has been a watering hole for mariners for many years. Its everything you wouyld expect of a typical Irish pub . It was a cold windy night when we arrived and once inside the door it was... More
