The Spaniard boasts two open fires and super Guinness served by local lad Ian . Its gets a lot of local trade ,and has been a watering hole for mariners for many years. Its everything you wouyld expect of a typical Irish pub . It was a cold windy night when we arrived and once inside the door it was... More

Situated at a corner of a road winding down to Kinsale town, the Spaniard is very different. It's a regular cosy Irish pub with a decent menu. Quaint and worth stopping at after a visit to Charles Fort.

Kinsale is a place that needs careful navigation. The turnoff for The Spaniard turns out to be the slip road between the sea and the road to Cork, and is signposted for The Spaniard. I took this road once before, by mistake, when I was looking for the aforementioned Cork Road. I spent a very long time weaving back and... More

Cosy little pub in Kinsale. Average service, decent prices. Great place to stop at for pre-dinner drinks before walking across the road to Man Friday restaurant.

Dined here in Sep with three close friends. It was a Sunday night so very quiet. However, the food and service was top class. An excellent variety - we all tried something different and nobody was disappointed. The waitress was a delight - from a town in the southern French Alps called Gap. The Spaniard itself is a short walk... More

This is a totally one sided biased view as I have had the pleasure of calling the Spaniard my local for over 40 years. An olde world pub and one of the most famous in Ireland for its atmosphere especially the chatty local customers who welcome visitors with a "Hello" "Welcome" "How are ya" or "where are ye from" which... Went to a 40th birthday party of 12 people. They were very accommodating and friendly. The drinking part of the pub is great, really cosy and the locals were very welcoming unlike in some pubs. The Sunday roast was good, nice thick cuts of beef and great veg. Scampi was a bit 'out of a packet' could have been fresher. However,... More

I liked everything about this pub - good food, good drink and fabulous atmosphere. We held an after wedding luncheon here with a large group. The food was very good and the service was excellent and very friendly and casual. I would highly recommend the Spaniard
