Oldest place in Kinsale, huge amounts of wonderful food

Had the pork belly with mashed potatoes, was wonderfully luscious. Loved how it was left untouched and many of the original antiquities were in place and still being used. Big timber floors and trusses, and the view over the harbor was lovely. Will be going back everytime we get to visit our... read more

Had the pork belly with mashed potatoes, was wonderfully luscious. Loved how it was left untouched and many of the original antiquities were in place and still being used. The people are wonderful, the music, food and drinks. Great place, when in in Kinsale we always go there no matter where we stay. Also very convient to where we were staying, just a short walk across the street

Had checked their website in advance which had plenty of vegetarian options. On arrival was told that that was the summer menu. Very limited options.

Visiting Kinsale and looking for so where to eat so this pub/restaurant was highly recommended on tripadvisor. It surely lived up to expectations! We ate in the bar section as it was around 4pm and it was a lovely relaxed setting. The food was top quality(the grilled hake was best ever!) The waitress was friendly and helpful. Will definitely go... More

We popped in here for some Christmas drinks recently on an overnight stay in Kinsale. It would be fair to say we weren't disappointed. Both my wife and I had been here in our younger days and remembered it fondly. Thankfully none of that charm has been lost over the years. On this particular night the place was packed. There... I had read the reviews on this place but was still pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be really old fashioned which it was but a such a lovely cozy friendly way. Food and wine was fantastic. Staff were so helpful. We had drinks in the bar after which is in a different section and again such a cozy atmosphere,... More

I must have first entered the doors to this bar more than 40 years ago and it is and will always remain my favourite bar in Kinsale. I always enjoy the walk up the hill to this historic bar overlooking wonderful Kinsale. It does not matter when you come here there is always a fine welcome in store for you.... More

i must say I wrote a review on the spanaird during my last visit to kinsale, I came to love the atmosphere and the old world feel about the building and its surroundings. So onto my visit Saturday the 12th of dec not as busy as I would have thought but when I began to chat to the manager of... More

On arriving in Cork airport and skipping straight to Kinsale to start our week long west coast holiday, we could hardly wait to show this classic Irish pub off to our American friends. In we piled, more than ready for the pint of stout we had each - with Tayto crisps of course. Tim declared it the best pint of... More

After reading all the great reviews I was quite dissapointed. Maybe my own fault for expecting too much. Nice cozy inside only soup and toasties on the menu.
