What a charming little pub!

This pub is just bursting with character! Open fire and really friendly staff - wine wasn't half bad either! Gorgeous little pub to have a quiet drink and warm up if a cold day! We didn't eat as was a bit early for us but I will definitely be returning to check it out!

Went in with my daughter for a bite to eat and a drink, as I had read the good reviews. Walked in and it was like the scene from American Werewolf in London, when everyone goes quiet and just stares as the two tourists walk into the pub full of locals! Asked if they served food, again it went quiet... More

We popped into the Spaniard for a drink before going to Man Friday restaurant, and could easily have settled in for the night. This pub has a warm welcoming atmosphere , two open fires and a great pint of Guinness. Definitely worth a visit.

After giving the Spaniard a wide berth for nearly twelve months I overheard one of my mates discussing a change in chef recently. I decided to pop in for an impromptu dinner on a Saturday night with my 11 month old son. Service...excellent as always. Stout....lovely. Food...brilliant....I very rarely order Bacon and Cabbage as your often presented with just that,... More

I've eaten in both the bar and restaurant and have always been pleased. The food is good quality and it's reasonably priced. The bar is good and the outdoor seating is wonderful on a sunny day.

We visited The Spaniard on St. Patrick's Day as we didn't want to hassle with the crowds in downtown Kinsale. It's the oldest pub in Kinsale and not only has a great atmosphere but the food was pretty good too. Had a seafood chowder that would give chowders from Maine a challenge for the best.

Stopped here for light lunch last Friday whilst visiting Kinsale. Parking wasn't great but that aside we enjoyed the experience very much. The bar-man clearly enjoyed his job, he was friendly, chatty & had a great "presence", nothing was too much trouble. We both had the steak sandwich, lovely juicy steak in a Panini, with side-salad & chips, really lovely.... More

Have been to the Spaniard a number of times for lazy lunch. Lovely setting in the especially in the off season. Warm, cosy and lovely sea food and a good pint of Murphys. Highly recommend it for couple on a cold afternoon.

I had some visitors over from England and brought the to The Spaniard last Saturday,we had a fantastic meal but even better a superb trad music session in the bar later including a fab version of my favourite tune the Lonesome boatman it blew the English visitors away.
