We went into this place which was recommended to us by the B&B where we stayed. My wife had Beef Stir Fry and I had "traditional fish and chips". The beef stir-fry was a gloopy mass of stringy beef which was just awful. The stir-fry sauce (sludge) was like lumpy gravy and pickled with salt. The fish-n-chips were not great.... More

This was a very cute restaurant in the heart of town. Can't miss it! We had eaten just a few hours prior so we didn't want anything that heavy or filling. The seafood chowder was to die for!!! So creamy with chunks of fish, clams, shrimp...I could go on. So good. But do yourself a favor and order a Murphy's... More

Stopped in without a reservation and were seated quickly at about 7pm on a Tuesday. I had cod special and my wife had the Guinness beef stew. Both were ample portions and very well prepared. Veggie sides and dessert also very good. Server was pleasant and helpful. Prices were moderate, about €80 for two of us, with starters, drinks and... More

We all loved the seafood chowder and in fact went back twice for it - the service was laughably slow and inexplicably spotty - people were very nice and friendly, but the restaurant was not busy at all given we went at an "off" time (3:30pm) Also, it's quite dark inside (the garden area was closed both times we went)... this food is well worth it! The place is charming in itself and the food is outstanding. We went for my mother's birthday and everything we had was delicious.

We were on an independent tour bus from our cruise ship and stopped in Kinsale for lunch on our own. One of our plans for this trip was to eat and drink in a real Irish pub. The White House was the suggestion we took from our tour guide. I had the seafood chowder (7.95 euros) with homemade bread. It... More

I was traveling with a family group and often had difficulty finding vegan meals. I had the vegetable curry for lunch here and would have happily returned here to eat it over and over. It was wonderful. The service was great as well!

We had a fairly large group that we knew would be a bit noisy---no problem, the restruant moved us to a really great back room and we had a perfect celebration.

Returned to Kinsale after four years. An old favorite, The White House, was as good as ever. The perfect Irish pub. Cold beer on a warm day. Traditional decor and seating. A generous bowl of soup and homemade bread was just enough. Very friendly staff. Gourmet restaurant adjacent. Small hotel above. A must when visiting Kinsale.
