Good Meal in a great and fun town.

We had a very nice meal here. I ordered the Chicken Encrote and it was delicious. The stuffed chicken breast was wrapped in a puff pastry and baked. It was delicious. The red cabbage as truly outstanding--excellent flavor, extremely tender, and not sopping wet--maybe the best red cabbage I'd ever... read more

There was a group of Desperate Housewives of Kinsale in the night we were there and a musician. Noise was simply deafening

Dinner was very good and the service was excellent. Later, we came back and enjoyed some music and drink in the pub. Definitely worthwhile.

We were really hungry upon arriving in town and were directed to this establishment by the visitors information when I told them I was looking for vegetarian food. The grilled veggie and hummus sandwich was so tasty. The coffee was wonderful as we are finding is true everywhere in Ireland! The Irish people are very friendly and most helpful. The... More

The White House came recommended by our bed & breakfast hostesses as a good place to hear some traditional Irish music so we stopped by after dinner. A local man named Shane and a revolving group of his friends regularly play there (fittingly named "Shane and Friends) and they were quite good. I say it is a good first stop... More

We had a very nice dinner here. I had the stuffed chicken en crote, it was fantastic, though could have used just a tad more moisture, but still quite tasty. The carrot purée was nice and the braises red cabbage was outstanding. Tommy had an excellent burger, more like a meatloaf. The Irish Coffee was a great finishing touch!

We just wanted a small meal and stopped in on the pub side for a burger - it was very good, served with fries and side salad and dressing. Staff is friendly and since seating is close together - we found the locals to be very friendly and welcoming! Great spot to sit and enjoy a few drinks and a... More

Stopped in for lunch. They had an excellent seafood chowder. Came with lovely brown soda bread. They also have cider on tap. My husband had their version of a Reuben. Not any thing like those in the states, but tasty.

Had the half lobster special. Lobster was very tough and chewy, and the taste wasn't worth the effort to chew and swallow - overcooked, maybe? The accompanying potatoes were the first mediocre potatoes I've had after a week and half in Ireland (the were poorly cooked and unseasoned). The salad was drenched in a flavorless, very oily vinaigrette and overloaded... More

Stopped for lunch last week and found it to be a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was good and plentiful. I had the fish and chips which was very good and probably more than two people could comfortably eat. I would suggest when in the area give it a try you won't be disappointed.
