A delightful small, but friendly restaurant in Kinsale where the staff seat you promptly and are courteous. A variety of fresh seafood and fish feature on its menu. We tucked into some freshly baked brown bread, which tasted wonderful along with the steamed Kinsale mussels in a broth of local cider, tomatoes and onions. That was followed by grilled skate... Staying in Kinsale for 3 nights started to wonder why this was the gourmet capital of Ireland, looking around the restaurants all seemed to have very much the same boring menus. Found the White House and thoroughly enjoyed scallops and mussels as a starter and grilled sole and half a lobster for main course, all very well cooked, presented and... More

Popped in here for breakfast as a solo traveller. Full Irish breakfast incl tea / coffee, juice & cereal was €11......hot food was hot & breakfast was nicely presented. Sadly I wasn't offered a choice of toast & was instead presented with a basket containing normal sliced white toast & 1 piece of a brown bread that definitely didn't taste... More

Kinsale was the first stop on a week-long golfing vacation to Ireland with friends. We had been traveling for 24 hours, but were anxious to enjoy our first authentic Irish meal before retiring for the night. The White House was the perfect choice. The waitress was fun and personable to our group of six. I started with Mussels accompanied by... More

The beer and food was first class. We arrived to find a very busy bar with restaurant where the staff made us very welcome and slotted us into the restaurant as soon as they were able, less than a two pint wait. Service was surprisingly fast given how busy the place was, good food and value for money.

We had been here 20 yrs ago and wanted to return for nostalgic reasons. We were seated in what seemed to be overflow room. No one else in it but the 2 of us. No music. Offered a drink which we ordered and then are waiter came back again and repeated the offer again..at this point we had our drinks... More

Easy to locate look for the gypsy wagon - expensive, however service and quality was very good. we had a table in a lovely location - on a platform - felt like a private room

After picking out the White House from many other places in Kinsale we enjoyed a lovely meal. Huge bowl of Mussels for me and Lamb Stew for the OH. Side of home cut chips rounded it off. Oh and excellent local beer too

We went into this place which was recommended to us by the B&B where we stayed. My wife had Beef Stir Fry and I had "traditional fish and chips". The beef stir-fry was a gloopy mass of stringy beef which was just awful. The stir-fry sauce (sludge) was like lumpy gravy and pickled with salt. The fish-n-chips were not great.... More
