We always have a drink or two here when we come to Kinsale and this time we also stayed in the hotel, (a seperate review). On a whim we checked the menu and liking the look of the specials on offer in the evening (an hour later) we reserved a table. Imagine our surprise when we sat down to find... More

We had our first meal here after our poor service the night before, at Fishy Fishy. We wish we had eaten here on every visit to Kinsale. We ate in the bar, so we could watch the live music. The food was absolutely perfect, I had poached salmon which was delicious and my husband had sea bass. We have always... More

I had the soup (cream of root vegetables) and fish and chips. It was ok, nothing memorable. The service was somewhat disappointing--when my order arrived, it was wrong. I had to ask three times for a glass of water.

Myself and 3 friends went to this restaurant in late June the starters were OK but the main meal and service was atrocious. 1 Glynn order the steak ciabatta sandwich and his response to this was my wet fishing socks would be more tender and tasty than this. 2 Chris order the sirloin steak and his review was the same... For lunch I ordered a king prawn starter and white wine. On the menu it said king prawns in olive oil, with garlic, chillies, coriander. In the event it was covered in onions and tasteless

We were here for fish and it was excellent! Soup was great and the inside was very charming. Great wait staff.

My husband , 4 yr old and I ate here for lunch recently while my food goats cheese salad was lovely, my daughter had a plain ham wrap nothing else and was charged €6.95 which is beyond ridiculous. I questioned it to be told that was the price. (No satisfaction whatsoever) Kids menu does have a chicken/cheese toasted wrap with... More

We ate here last night in the midst of the Regatta Festival in Kinsale. Despite being very busy, we were given a lovely table in the bar. The atmosphere was really lovely and there was no air of rush even though the staff must have been under pressure as the place was heaving and pre booked functions were also taking... More

This restaurant is over hyped an over priced. I sent back my main course as it was over cooked but got no apology. Starters in a bar @ €11.50 and glasses of wine @ €6.75 suggest a higher standard. Never again

My partner and I were going for a strole in Kinsale one evening as we were staying close by. We came across the Blue Haven just as we were begining to get hungry. We were both tired after an eventful few weeks and so my partner suggested we just eat there after we had stopped for a drink. The menu... More
