...and Cobra is no exception! The food is OK, I mean, it doesn't taste horrible, but it certainly is boring in contrast with the real flavours of India. It's a shame that it seems like they making everything less fragant, spicy and flavourful in order to carter to the Irish taste. We had aloo tikki to start, which was a... More

On our 4th nigh in Kinsale we decided on Indian food. Marti ordered Lamb Rezi and I had another lamb dish. Both of the meals were very good and were served with Rice and Nans. I had a glass of wine with the meal. The restaurant is decorated in typical indian fashion. The service was good and we enjoyed the... More

We ordered a takeaway. It was all very tasty. Only complaint was that the keema madras was far spicier than when we order it elsewhere although that wouldn't stop us from eating here again.

Having lived in India previously & being a total curry addict as well as having had 2 weeks of traditional Irish fare we were quite desperate for some curry so stopped off at Cobra. Large expansive menu featuring all the old favourites at OK prices but had the feeling the food was perhaps pre cooked in advance then just heated... More

If you are desperate for a curry , or vegetarian or both, go ahead and disperse the urge, but prepare yourself ,great service, ugly restaurant, nothing special food. easy location , no parking. They just dumb down all exotic food here in Ireland, till its beyond boring.

Walked in on a Monday night which was understandably quiet. Very attentive waiter. Had a fish starter which was slightly overcooked but still good. The mushrooms were very tasty. Being pescatarians we opted for the prawn jalfrezi and a potatoe dish for our main course accompanied by plain rice The prawns were plump and juicyand plentiful. The potatoes were very... More

Have had much better Indian meals in my home town. There was no ambience, glaring light, no attempt made to 'soften' the place with effective lighting etc. and whilst the waiter was nice, the place was very dead. Wine was not good. Food okay, Naan bread (Peshweri) was too sugary, and should have contained some spices and raisins but didn't.

The food was good but the restaurant lacked ambiance. The decor could be improved upon with linen napkins, table cloths and better quality tablewear . Our waiter was charming however and this was an important factor in our enjoyment of the meal. The take away business looked brisk!!!

Another friday night, another Vindaloo.A once in a lifetime experience but only because I will never return. To be fair the Pilau rice was lovely but the chicken/lamb/prawns all had a hastily defrosted texture and flavour.Sauces were lukewarm and I do a better butter chicken at home.Service was Casual, slow and apologetic and there is probably more atmosphere on the moon.euro70 for two... We are English so we like a good curry having lived near Bradford for many years where the good curry houses are located. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was very good, would definitely go there again if in Kinsale
