5 star all the way

I think I have found my new favourite restaurant in Cork. The Farmgate based in Midleton is excellent on all levels. The staff are so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I recently tried this restaurant for lunch, having previously enjoyed some nice dinners here. My companion and I ordered 2 fish pies, I regret to say we are still looking for the fish! The pie dish contained what appeared to be chowder without the fish and topped with further mashed potatoe, our neighbours who ordered chowder received at least a... More

This was an exceptional find, and stands head and shoulders above anything else in the area. We arrived a little late for lunch. Not a problem. We were shown to a fine table by a very friendly waiter. The service was prompt, attentive but not at all intrusive. The menu provided choices so that it was hard to pick from... More

We visited this delightful little restaurant on a cold and blustery day for lunch. Right from the moment one steps through the door its a feast for all the senses. One walks past shelves aching with delectable looking cakes, pies breads, bottles of wine with charming lables etc. to get to the restaurant. We were served by a delightfully chatty... More

Was keen to try and I have heard great reviews. Went there with my 6 mth old, mother and sister for lunch. Very busy so advise to book in advance. However they were very helpful and found us a table very quickly. Had mains and desserts - all beautiful. Well priced and great atmosphere. Lovely place to buy a dessert... More

I had lunch here for the first time today. A little hidden gem. The first bonus is not having to pay for parking, no struggling with finding a machine, change etc. so that's a nice positive start. Lovely welcome at the door, seated quickly and order taken when we were ready. Great selection of food on offer at a mid... More

As it happened on this occasion only had a snack but saw the others in the restaraunt having wonderful food in a really quaint atmosphere. There is also a shop where you can buy local produce. Super local produce to eat in or take away.

Amazing service from the minute we arrived until we left. The gentleman serving us with glasses was lovely! Our food was so fresh & tasty!!! The dessert was 10 out of 10 and the cappuccino was the best I've ever had!!! Highly recommend this place!
