This restaurant is miles ahead of the competition in terms of both food and ambience. The layout of the restaurant is fantastic as are the staff and the food is absolutely beautiful. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a restaurant with character and good wholesome food .Will be returning soon.

The town of Midelton, Co. Cork has been bypassed for many years now. Recently we decided to take a detour & visit it again. Farm gate deli restaurant/cafe is well worth a visit. It is situated on a side street off the main street at the eastern end of town. The small frontage is deceptive as the shop opens into... More

The Farmgate in Midleton never lets me down - delivers every time on service, quality, freshness, good local produce, gorgeous baked desserts and breads and definitely top notch steak. I don't eat seafood but friends say its gorgeous as well. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Midleton although there are quite a few good restaurants in this... More

Always go for the breaded calamari in pepper sauce - yum - could eat them 'til they came out my ears! Beef & mushroom/Sheppard's pie also good - as are the open sandwiches. Like the Dungarvan Helvick blonde ale - staff always friendly/attentive/quick - lovely desserts, can get them to take away - nice selection of artisan breads outside too... More

Dinner for four and we ate all across the menu. Everyone was very happy with their food. Plenty of veg served and real potatoes in their summer skins - yum. Second time in a week to have squid - this one was lovely and light well cooked and the pepper sauce great. Seafood pasta was delicious. I love the idea... More

We shared a delicious seafood platter for two with scallops, mussels, crab and calamari. The flavours were just wonderful, plump mussels, succulent scallops etc. yum! We shared a scrumptious lemon tart followed by excellent coffee. The house Sauvignon Blanc was also perfect. Friendly, efficient service in very pleasant surroundings. Excellent value for money. Not surprisingly, the place was buzzing.

Beautiful cakes and baked-goods as you come through the deli shop to the front, but if you want to stop for lunch, this is a really nice restaurant, and our meals were tasty and fresh. The pasta dishes were especially nice, and the garlic bread was delicious.

First visit in around 2 years, sadly, but very glad to report that things are as excellent as ever under the stewardship of Sally and the great team here. 9 of us for an early sitting and not a complaint to be heard. Wonderful service, all choices over starters, mains and desserts absolutely delicious. Wine list updated since my last... More
