4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014 NEW

We'd had an excellent tea at the Farmgate in the English Market, so decided to try the 'real thing'. The food was really very very good (Tbone, two fish specials and a duck), including the veg - one of those meals when each component is so good you want to eat it on it's own. And wine (by the glass)... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant last night by chance. It is situated in a disused garage/tyre store and has been restored with quirky furniture pieces. The dining area is entered via a delicatessen shop. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The menu was excellent with a large choice of fish and meat dishes. The food was fresh and full of... We were in the Farmgate Restaurant recently for a family meal. We started with Seafood Chowder, soup and liver pate For main we had T Bone steak , Duck, Monkfish all were excellent. We were so full that nobody could talk dessert so finished up with some nice coffee. BTW they had a nice selection of reasonably priced wine. We... More

Myself and a friend dined here for dinner last week. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent Calamari for starter was perfectly cooked, clack pudding tart was different but good. Mains, Risotto was so full of flavour and the monkfish was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I Will definitely be returning money well spent!

Walking in the door, you are greeted with fresh baked bread, cakes, pies, all kinds of wonderful fresh baked goods. I had the chicken and bacon ceasar salad. Salads are not usually anything to rave about. The chicken was however perfectly cooked, the bacon was the tastiest I've ever had, and the lettuce was fresh and crispy. It was very... More

We had the monk fish and black sole. Unbelievably exquisite. So fresh you could taste the sea. Oh and the lamb loin which was perfect. Service was magical, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the live guitar was superb. Great meal, presented with style and a relaxed warmth that sophisticated without any pretension. Such a great space - full of... More

Being a seafood freak I was in heaven on finding this wonderful small restaurant. A starter of seafood chowder was by far the best I have ever tasted, cram packed with a huge selection of fish and seafood and accompanied by an amazing soda bread. In all honesty the chowder would probably been enough on its own but I couldn't... More
