Myself & my boyfriend went for lunch with a voucher we'd received. Upon arrival it was busy but we stood with staff whizzing by us and no eye contact for about 10 minutes. When we were eventually ordered to our table, service from the young waitress was lovely. What we found rude was the manageress with black hair trudging past,... More

This has to be the most over rated restaurant in Cork. Every guide book and food website worships this restaurant / bakery and food store in Midleton. We visited after the lunchtime rush on a busy Saturday and honestly couldn't see what the attraction was. The staff are not friendly, service is sloppy and appalling slow. We were waiting ages... We were en route to airport....so didn't stop for long but the place was friendly, quick and efficient and the food (me, chowder) was very nice. Kids portions of spag bol looked a bit small but were probably about right. Very nice setup with deli attached. Great place.

Went for lunch to Farmgate with two friends and pre booked a table. I also had my 8 month old daughter with me. When I arrived I was told that I was not permitted to bring the push chair into the restaurant. I was instructed to fold it up and leave it in the hallway where staff would take care... More

Having moved to midleton a little over a year ago I had heard a lot of mixed reviews about farm gate from the "locals" so when my significant other surprised me with lunch here I was very intrigued. While we did acknowledge that the place was busy the time waiting for a table was annoyingly long, three waitresses on ,... More

We were lucky enough to eat in the Farmgate Restaurant on Friday 1st March while visiting the area. I can honestly say it is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Food was fabulous, service was prompt and came with a smile. This despite the fact that the place was heaving with people. I can well understand... More

We had lunch and dinner here over the weekend. Farmgate was superb. Food was excellent and staff were really helpful. If you are staying anywhere nearby, you must go here.

My wife and I went here before the holidays and it was one of the nicest evenings we ever had, though we have been here on several occasions. Decor the right mix of style (white table cloths) and rustic (painted corrugated metal sheets to give it the look of a barn) ambiance. Food was incredible and though everything is good,... More

Visited Farmgate for lunch on Friday 18th and it was superb. The tagliatelle special was fantastic. Lunch was so good we booked for dinner on Saturday and once again the food was superb. The Scallop starter and John Dory main were both first class. The staff here are excellent, many happy face enjoying their work. Can't wait to return.

I have eaten here before- both for afternoon tea and for dinner but its been a while. we were staying in Garryvoe and decided to eat here. We were lucky to get a last minute booking as there were eight of us. We all ordered different starters and mains and everything was gorgeous. I had rack of lamb for my... More
