Went in here for a bit of lunch on 10/9/14, Couldn't find a clean table, every table seemed to have used cups, dirt, etc on them. Sat down at a table that hadn't been cleared. The young male staff members seemed to be wandering round aimlessly. The place was fairly quiet as it was just after lunch time but we... More

Had dinner here with five American visitors recently. The menu is typical pub grub lacking totally in imagination. Nothing tasted freshly made or home cooked. I ordered a steak thinking it was the best option as it's difficult to mess up a simple steak. I was wrong, my steak was simply awful. Those looking for fresh interesting pub food should... More

We always end up at Gibney's, whether its for a quick bite, or just a few drinks and a snack. Prices are reasonable, and at night the live music is fantastic.

Had meal with my husband at 6.30 in the evening (Friday) and service and food was excellent. Had tempura prawns which were perfectly cooked and a burger which was also good. Staff were attentive and helpful. Pub was not full so not sure how they manage the bills when it is busy but we ordered from the bar and then... More

The first thing we noticed on our visit to Gibney's was the chaos around the bar. People queuing to order drinks and food at the till with no table service available is a dysfunctional system. When food arrived from the kitchen the staff had no idea who ordered it and what table it was to go to. We ordered a... More

A friend refers to Gibneys as the Harry Potter pub as it seems to have it's own moving staircase as no two parts are the same. Personally prefer to stay in the tap room with the multitude of bookie's slips scattered all about the place. Plenty of character and far better than the couple of alternatives in the area.

Had a bad experience in here today food came to us 45 minutes after ordering.barley touched my chicken burger as it was cold and my son of 11 commented on his soup saying it was like baby food.I noticed there was at least seven staff behind the bar very all over the place.Toilets were filthy and was suprised as there... We visited this establishment on a whim after spending the morning on the beach and we were not disappointed! From the minute we walked in the door we were delighted with the friendly staff and atmosphere. The food was excellent and their soup and sandwich combo really hit the spot! Excellent lunch!

Chowder was lovely. Looked like it had been busy, maybe floor could have done with a sweep, but was a sunday evening so was probably busy with sport on tv. But will be back as usual!! just a nice place to go.
