Great spot for food, drink, sports, music

I kind of feel like I short change the many other pubs in Malahide by spending most (all?) of my time at Gibney's. I've met friends there for dinner, drinks and to watch sports. Nice atmosphere. Good service.

I went in here with some friends, firstly just to have a drink, but it turned out that we all said we were hungry and ordered our food - we all enjoyed it very much and it wasn't very expensive either - average price was approx 7 -12 euros.per person. The staff in Gibneys are very friendly and it's a... More

Always the buzz-iest pub in Malahide - where all the locals hang out - the young and somewhat older, yes it is crowded, not the greatest decor, impossible to find a seat usually, but what an atmosphere. Best tip for Wine Drinkers is pop next door first at gibneys off licence, buy the best wine you can afford, ask Anne... More

Dropped in for a family meal, including our infant neice, on a Sunday afternoon and got exactly what we wanted: Cold drinks on a hot day, a selection of sports to catch up on in the background, a quality atmosphere, great craic, and good value quality pub food. Gibneys delivered in spades. Well worth dropping in if you're in the... More

We ate here for lunch one day per the recommendation of our B&B owners. You could get soup and sandwich for about 6 euros. The atmosphere is very cozy and we went back the same day because we heard some locals liked to get together on Wednesdays, specifically, and would often play. To our luck, we came back that night... We called in Gibneys on the first night of our 4 night stay in Malahide and retuned every subsequent night.Great atmosphere, friendly locals and a beautiful pint of Guiness makes this a must if in the town.

We went to this bar on our visit to malahide. We walked into the small front bar and were greated by a warm friendly barman. He had a bit of banter with us and pointed us in the direction of the big screen to watch the football. The music craic and people were all so nice we stayed all night.... More

We dropped in Malahide as planned and searched and read menus and read reviews and we selected Gibney's of Malahide , which we loved. A pub with many angles that caters for many purposes : Just a drink , a cosy drink a granny with a coffee corner... the blazing multi screen bar for all the matches.. I liked this... More

I have been in Gibneys several times as i visit Malahide regularly but this was the first time that I have had a meal. The bar itself is fantastic and offers everything that you could want from music to sports to food. I was there with my family and although the bar does not cater for small children without chaging... More

This is a very busy standing room only pub with a good range of beers, spirits and wines. It is also a bit on the dark side but maybe that's how the locals like it. Good place for a drink on passing and the Guinness is good.
