I wouldn't regard Gibney's as a restaurant. They do perfectly adequate pub grub but that's not why people go there. It's the in place for the younger set in Malahide, always busy at night. There is a sports bar with more TVs than I have ever seen in one place before. The pub serves a wide range of drinks and... More

After a tour of Malahide castle and surrounding gardens there is a need for a meal. The castle cafeteria is less than inviting and its appearance is of a diner rather than a restaurant situated in a beautiful, old castle. There is a need for a walk to the village where one may find a few choices. We opted for... More

Not there when they were too busy. Seemed to take longer than it should-- maybe we were too hungry after our walk.

We met some friends here on Saturday for a bite to eat and few drinks. The food was poor, very basic and just not tasty. There were 6 of us and half of us didn't eat our meal but "being Irish" decided it just wasn't worth complaining about. To be honest it wasn't really Bad it just wasn't Nice. Bit... More

I don't really understand the last review. I found Gibneys to be the most welcoming pub I went in throughout ireland. I went in several times and always had outstanding service for a busy bar. On top of that I found the locals to be very nice and chatty. The food was great and the pints were far cheaper than... More

I stopped off here as I heard so much about the place, but unless you are a local, in my view, you are wasting your time and money. Very busy place and the most I have paid for a pint of a Guinness in a very long time. There are more welcoming bars in Malahide.

The food here is amazing - absolutely love the shrimp dish - freshly battered and taste out of this world. Fast friendly service and lovely gas fire with coal face to look at - a must when out this direction

Visited Gibney's when staying in Malahide recently and wasn't disappointed. We were fortunate that the night in question was the night of an Ireland football match, so the pub was full and atmospheric. And there was a plethora or TV's in which to watch various sports. Gibney's is a large pub with a huge long bar. The service was great.... More

Popped in here one evening for some quick dinner. I had a lovely Chicken caesar salad. There were quite a few people there both eating and just having drinks. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The bar food was tasty and very good value.

This is a great pub, can't say enough good things about it. Great staff, great wine ( other pubs could learn a lesson or two from Gibneys on wine), buzzing, exactly what a pub should be. If we lived here I'd be in it every weekend.
