Read great reviews in guidebooks and looked forward to lunch. Visited finally at 12 on a Saturday and found it strangely empty. Decor nostalgic but depressing as refers to it in the days of a bustling noisy pub. Gruffly told where we could and couldn't sit by owner initially. Ordered sandwiches and order taken wrongly despite being only customers taking... More

I have to declare my association with Eddie Gaughan - I knew him as a kid in Ballina. I left Ballina many years ago, now returning regularly, but little did I think that I would one day have such delicious food served to me by that big guy. Cooking is one my favorite hobbies - because I love good food.... More

Lovely pub for some barlunch. It has a lovely dessert menu which is worth treating yourself too. Visitors would love it here!

I've had linch here twice. Service is excellent and food is average. The interior could use a makeover

I have been visiting Gaughan's for 26 years, so I guess I may call myself a regular now ! I must admit, I preferred Gaughan's when it still served a pint of Guinness, or two, as this was the finest in the country by a mile. Cold or "natural" a creamy soft pint was guaranteed ! I had the crab salad which was very good. Service was excellent. I do not care for brown bread and the other option was plain bread which was disappointing.

Really friendly service and as fresh and generous a crab salad as I have every eaten. Unfortunately it doesn't serve Guiness.
