Expensive for what you get

I was put off by the prices but thought it must be something special so I thought I would give it a go. Starter: oysters came out beautifully presented. They were delicious!! 12euros Main: trio of fried fish and chips. The fish was crispy and fresh. I was so disappointed with the chips. The chips... read more

The food was nice but slightly overpriced for what it was. 2 of the servers in black clothing were excellent. However the third server wearing casual clothes did not look presentable enough to serve food. Also, I was sitting at a two seater table on my own and he rudely took the second chair during my meal. He might as... More

This is a cute and cosy restaurant and the food was pretty nice. Just thought it was incredibly pricey (tourist prices) for what you got. My lamb came out overcooked and while it was a generous portion, at €30-40 for mains it should be faultless. The sides were also pretty average and the seating was very cramped so you had... More

Although it was a cold, dark February night the welcome was very warm indeed. There weren't many people around so it was quite nice as it was quieter in the place. The owner made us very welcome and the staff were very nice too. We had a fantastic meal and enjoyed ourselves very much. Our daughter who is vegetarian also... More

Limited number of restaurants open when we visited Dingle but this one was and we were not disappointed. Plenty of choice on the menu. Fish of the day was |John Dori, something we had not had before and was again pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended.

I really can't complain about this restaurant at all, from the staff to the owner introducing himself and well the food, exceptional!! Definitely try the seafood chowder..! It was recommended to us by the receptionist at Dingle Harbour Lodge where we stayed and am so glad we tried there. I would definitely recommend to ring and book a table as... More

I finally was able to get my family to Ireland and the only requirement I had on our trip was to have dinner at the Half Door. I have eaten here once before and it was fantastic. This time was no different. Our party of 9 was all in excitement about eating here after my ravings for the last couple... More

At the end of January Dingle is fairly quiet but thank goodness one of the best is open! We started with some of their signature starters, crab gratin, fish cakes and mushroom gratin, all oozing with flavour. Although famed for their fish they do meat just as well! I followed with one of the specials, beef three ways, which was... More
