My husband and I had an evening meal here yesterday and would highly recommend it not only was the food extremely flavoursome but present with a lovely flower garnish. The early bird menu is superb value for money and it has one of the best choices I have seen anywhere.

Ate here after not getting into Ida's as we were too late - thrilled we didn't as it looked cold and in inviting. Bright lights and uncleared tables ??? Anyway - the half door was amazing. Great lamb and Duck with smokies to die for! Waiter was lovely too - great chats ! Head straight for this restaurant !

Went there with 8 others after the Dingle Half Marathon! This is a charming restaurant with an exciting varied menu with an emphasis on seafood as you would expect! We were there for the early bird which was great value - three courses for €29.50. Everyone enjoyed. Melon starter was truly fabulous! Had hake for main - delicious! Nice touch... More

My wife and I had a nice meal here on 30/08/2014. We shared a starter of mussels in a creamy garlic sauce served with brown bread. The mussels, sauce and bread were delicious. Mains were hake for Lynn & duo of turbot and john dory for me. Both were enjoyable and served with potato/veg. The meal was good but I... More

After a stunning, windblown walk across Fermoyle Strand last week, we were delighted to be warmly welcomed to the Half Door Restaurant by the smiling head waiter, Roland. Five of us, of varying ages and culinary interests, had the most delicious lunch of mussels, salmon, steak and the best crab gratin we had ever tasted. After this feast, a delicious... More

First time in Th Half door in August. I won't be back. While the food was gorgeous the owner himself is lovely the head waiter left a v v v bitter taste in my mouth. I too had the pleasure of his rudeness. I merely mentioned that my main course wasn't to my taste and you'd swear it was a... More

Food good but not amazing – what was outstanding was the head waiters rudeness – we were on the early bird due to leave at 8 as we hadn’t finished our wine and coffees (due to slowish service) we volunteered to move to the bar at which the waitress said no problem – the head waiter three times asked us... We choose this restaurant by pure chance, it was raining hard, no surprise, and we found it open for lunch and just entered. The first impact is positive, cozy, elegant, with a certain style. We choose lobster soup, another fish soup, a delicious crab, and our 3 children chicken with potatoes. Finally we had a wonderful dessert: warm apple and... More
