Excellent but no need to rush earl bird diners!

Went for early bird meal. There were 9 of us so a big group at short notice. Lovely restaurant, great choice for early bird menu. Hake was excellent as was the chowder. Not loaded with cream and potato but plenty of fish. Bread & Butter to finish and I was over stuffed! Service good but reason I... read more

I ate with friends there last night. We were booked in for the early bird meal for 6:15pm. Slightly delayed on the way and rang ahead to let them know. When we arrived there was barely a welcome. Owner told us that he needed the table back for 7:50pm. He may as well have told us just to leave. We... More

This cozy restaurante in the small town of Dingle is a must visit. The sea food chowder was simply the best I ever tasted. If you order it, unless you are very hungry you do not need anything else for lunch .....it is chuck full of fish for 9 euros ......and the flavour is AMAZING. Great atmosphere with crisp white... Dingle has several good restaurants to choose from. The Half Door has been here for many years and the food is consistently good. Ther service is great.

Very uncomfortable as the tables are packed in togetherness so it was quite difficult to eat. Fabulous lobster bisque but everything else was poor. Fish of the day was hake in leek sauce and it was a mess. Not enough staff to cope although they did their best but service was frantic and fraught. Will not be back.

Incredible food - I'm a huge foodie and I will forever say this was the best meal I've ever had (even after eating at Michelin stars)!

Spent some time looking at various menus listed outside some of the more popular restaurants as listed on TA. A fellow visitor stopped us on the street & had just been at the Half Door for the early bird special. Raved about the meal. So on his recommendation we had dinner here. One of our best meals the entire visit... More

Everything about this restaurant is excellent. The food just to die for, the atmosphere superb the service second to none (the lovely waiter even knew how to make a "Manhattan" for our new American friend). Not cheap but well worth it, definitely a good example of "you get what you pay for". I highly recommend it.
