Hopes were high, and the cosy setting of The Half-Door restaurant held promise for a fine-dining experience for two. The starter "Baked Crab" tasted like a block of cheddar cheese melted in the microwave with crab mixed through it- barely edible, to put it politely. One main course of hake was smothered in what looked like leek soup. The other... More

Had a great Friday night here and was impressed by the friendliness and service given by the staff. Searching for a decent restaurant meal on a wet Friday night in Dingle isn't the best especially in the Winter when so many places are closed. Got a nice warm welcome here and a veggie in the party was well looked after.... More

We had a simple meal that wasn't very expencive and the ambience is quite casual. The staff were friendly and helpfull, but the outstanding thing was the quality of my lamb main course. Definitely recommend it.

Myself, my boyfriend and his sisters came to The Half Door for New Years Eve dinner. We were visiting Dingle for 3 nights over this period and had heard that it was one of the better places to go. It is a family run restaurant - the husband out on the floor serving, seating etc and the wife who is... More

One of the best oysters I ate and I ate them all around the world. Don't be wrong attracted by the pubs and restaurant on the sea front. Go to the Half Door , it is more fancy , not more expensive and with good food and service.

we went here for dinner, as we were here in november we didnt need to book. Entering the resturant you go through a yellow half door into a very warm and relaxed resturant, and we had a choice of table as it was quiet, the resturant has 3 different seating areas on the one floor and has a small bar... I was disappointed in this restaurant. For a starter, I ordered the fish cakes. They came with a "Thai chili sauce" which I understood would be spicy. However, they tasted like they were made with curry and very hot curry. I like curry but not with fish, and not this hot. I also ordered salmon with couscous. I guess there... More

First night in Dingle we ate oyster (very good), seafood chowder, duck confit, broiled salmon all good. I had lobster bisque which was average (had a kick but not very impressive). Tiramisu and tart for dessert with one glass of wine. 83 euros without tip doing the set menu of 30 euros each plus some extras. Warm and good service.
