Amazing food and atmosphere, friendly personal service

We discovered this place by accident a few years ago and have been back every year since sometimes twice a trip because it is so good! The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The owners - two brothers - are great. One cooks, the other waits on and they are both friendly and chatty. The... read more

Went there based on all the great reviews.... Really not impressed. Food was decent but overpriced. My husband ordered the Hake, but the portion was very small. It came with "bacon mashed potatoes" which were plain mashed potatoes with three small dices of bacon on top. I ordered their mushroom soup -- very plain. And a €7 salad. The salad... More

I recently planned a hen party at An Canteen after looking for just the right restaurant that would have a comfortable atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices. Brian and his team at An Canteen delivered all of that and more. The food was tasty and thoughtful with local fresh ingredients. The staff accommodated our huge group graciously. Brian drew up... We went down this lane by accident and discovered they had a table in the ever busy Dingle. I ordered the John Dory and my husband had the local special. The waitress made an Irish gaffe by saying they both came with potatoes and chips but we both thought that was a lots of potatoes even by Irish standards. They... More

Ate here last night and was very happy with it. Chosen as reluctant to pay the crazy prices most well regarded restaurants in Dingle charge yet we still wanted a high quality meal. An Canteen was perfect. Calamari special was incredibly fresh and delicious as was the hake main. These were the stand out dishes but everyone in our party... More

We go to Dingle every year with 2 other couples and every year we go to An Canteen. The brothers that own it are great craic and have a very easy manner. They make a point of speaking to every table . The food is fabulous and the atmosphere friendly and informal. When we were there this year we noted... More

We ate at 6.15, 6 adults 6 children, the meal was actually the best one we had over the weekend stay and we ate out somewhere on early bird every night.

We hadn't booked but were lucky enough to get a table in this small but perfectly formed restaurant. The food, 16 hour beef and hake were melt in the mouth and dessert fabulous. The service was excellent and lovely to hear them conversing in Irish. Highly recommended.

Wee came here based on the strong recommendation of our B&B owner...we were out of luck that night but made plans for our second night in Dingle. best calamari and best hake we've had so far in Ireland. They chowder was a little lighter than others but with a very nice tarragon taste. If you miss this place, you miss... More

Two great dinners, love the hake fish and the braised beef, the place has a great family feel. We will come back on our next trip to Dingle!😋
