Fabulous Food with a warm Irish welcome

We recently ate at this restaurant while on a short vacation in Ireland. The restaurant was recommended to us by the B&B owner where we stayed and we are so glad that she pointed this place out. The proprietors were friendly with all the customers and obviously had a knack for knowing what each of them wanted from their experience. A mixture of locals, travelling regulars and tourists. The food really is great, the lamb especially. It's all locally sourced and has obviously been treated with the attention it deserves. The wine list has been put together... More

One of the places I visited while in Dingle recently was An Canteen Restaurant. I thought that this was an odd use of the English word in an Irish context. The word I would normally use would be An Ceaintín or An Bialann which I suppose is not exactly the same thing. Anyway, that is only a minor point so... More

We loved eating at "An Canteen". Food is light but tasty and exceptionally presented. The choice of wines and beers is wide, and the selection is clearly made by people who know what they're talking about. We will go back to An Canteen every time we visit Dingle. Thank you!

Lovely decor and great innovative menu. We liked the way it was adventurous with its menu choices and dared to move away slightly from the usual Irish fare.

Stumbled on this restaurant whilst walking around Dingle, it's tucked up a narrow residential side street, but we were more than pleasantly surprised. We received a warm welcome, we hadn't made a reservation in this tiny restaurant. The menu is delicious, all sourced local produce, which is delicious. Local beers and ciders as well, highly recommend the 16 hr slow... More

We're weren't in dingle for long but of the few restaurants we tried An Canteen far excelled the rest. We were a little concerned when we first arrived as the place was quite empty but all that was put to rest when our food arrived. The restaurant is owned and run by two local brothers, one the chef and the... More
