We spent a couple days in Dingle and it's very easy to fall into the "gotta eat at the pub" trap while there. Wanting something different, we elected to try the place our B&B innkeeper suggested: An Canteen. This restaurant is owned by two brothers who, despite not really having a restaurant background, obviously know what it takes to run... More

The point on this location is that food comes first. The surroundings ain't flashy (they are not bad either), but the first reaction when entering An Canteen could consider the place a bit dull.. The food is really well prepared here. Place was packed later in the evening - reservations highly recommended.

Had dinner there twice last week while on hols in the area. It was so good we came back for our last night! We also have 2 children and they were accommodated no problem with half portions of the freshest fish and chips. The haddock was beautifully cooked and lamb shanks were delicious. Service was friendly and professional.

A good and friendly atmosphere with great service from friendly staff. The food was very good only criticism is that the crackling on the pork was too hard other than that a good experience and we had an enjoyable evening here.

If you are ever within 100 miles of Dingle. . . give yourself a wonderful treat and dine at An Canteen! The sign outside advertises home styled food but we found excellent creative cuisine that rivals the Michelin rated restaurants we've tried in France. The ambiance is casual and cozy. . . good for romance or special occasions for small... More

The owners of our B&B highly recommended this place, and they were right. Our food was excellent, from starters to dessert. We both had fish specials and we were very impressed with the freshness and the preparation. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. Good wine selection.

We visited an canteen in June. It's a small restaurant serving local fish mostly and has a selection of local craft beers on offer too. The food was very nice but I had heard great things about it so was a bit disappointed. Having said that , we found the place very welcoming and friendly and enjoyed out meal there.

Good, well cooked food. Had the lamb shank which just fell off the bone. There's an interesting selection of beers (and wine too). Well worth a visit.

We dined here one rainy evening and were delighted in conversing with the proprietor and the chef. They make the meal very imtimate. My husband had the smoked haddock and said it was the best piece of fish he's had in some time. Aquaintances from our guest house said they had the same thing and also raved! I had one... More

Located in the heart of Dingle Town not far from the parking lot. This restaurant is small so you definitely want to make a reservation. The food is so good we ate here twice during our short stay. We liked the organic approach. The chef is very creative in preparing a variety of seafood dishes. If you like seafood, don't... More
