Beautiful setting - not wheelchair friendly.

I attended a large function at the boathouse. We were given permission to remove/ twist away pillars so we could drive the car closer to the building. However, there is no sloping entry to the building, restroom or even the outdoor seating area. Strangers very kindly came over to assist with... read more

My wife and I had been meaning to visit The Boathouse Bistro for quite some time, just never worked out for us. Finally, in the first week of this past September, we decided to knock of work at our house and make the drive across the Bay to grab drinks and appetizers. The Bistro is located at the water’s edge,... More

On Sunday, September 14 th, my husband and I enjoyed an excellent meal of delicious fresh fish and chips in the Boathouse Bistro. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The meal was beautifully presented. We liked the decor of the restaurant and the setting by Kenmare Bay was beautiful. The only fault we could find was... More

You'd really want to like fish as there is little else on the menu. The view is nice when the weather permits. It's best to go during daylight hours on a clear day. Vegetarian options are extremely limited but the deserts and drinks are nice if you don't mind the fish smell and the nautical theme.

We have been to the boathouse a couple of times in the past few months. With and without a reservation and we were always welcomed and there was always a table for us. The reason going back is the consistency in good food, good service and the very nice environment.

We had lunch here twice, on our first day when we had a wonderful seafood chowder and on our way back when we just had a light snack, both times the hospitality was great and the location is to die for you think you are in heaven, sadly we had to leave to return to England

This is a must visit restaurant, we had lunch there on a sunny day, the location is absolutely fantastic, the food and service excellent, we had a simple one course lunch and shared a desert everything about it was brilliantly done. Will we go again ..? Definitely
