Fabulous setting,lovely food

We visited twice during our recent visit (18th June 2015 for a week). The weather was glorious for our first visit and we sat outside. The setting is truly fabulous, with amazing views of the lake. I noticed that you were welcome for drinks or dinner, but we were quite early doors, so unsure if... read more

Just came back from here and had to write a review. I have just had one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant. I had the crispy skinned chicken and it was divine. It was served on a bed of creamy bacon and leek risotto and I had creamy mashed potato on the side. I come here... More

We booked dinner for 6 to mark the end of our holiday. The starters were all excellent: seafood chowder - good (very filling), scallops and ham hock croquette - excellent, calamari - tasty. The main course steak, although expensive, was superb; Monkfish - delicious, salmon - spot on, fish and chips - very good. Paying an additional charge for veg... More

We brought my parent s and the kids to the boathouse recently. It was just fab. The location is gorgeous. Great menu. The restaurant is really cool. Very nautical and quirky. All our food was gorgeous. Staff were really friendly. Price was perhaps slightly more expensive but for the location and quality of food it was fair. Wish I lived... More

I went there for a family lunch to celebrate my parents' ruby wedding anniversary. We had heard great things about the place so our expectations were high. The setting is beautiful with a pier outside and the restaurant is tastefully furnished. The food was excellent and plentiful ( I only ate half the salmon although it was delicious) and the... More

The fish and chips were superb! It comes with a few greens, and a pea and mint chutney which was yummy and unique. Also, there is a gin list with over 20 different gins. Try the Dingle gin if you want something light and smooth, and the Langton's no.1 if you want more flavor, even a bit licorice like. This... More

Went to see Jack L, small crowd of punters and a lot of journalists and photographers. We did not have to pay to see him as we said we were having lunch (which was fab). Will be back.

The location beside the Kenmare Bay with the pier and mountains was beautiful and relaxing. The food was EXCELLENT. The fillet of beef was perfect and the local salmon was TERRIFIC! All of the service staff were friendly, fast and attentive. And they had great personalities. All in all, the Boathouse is a treat not to be missed if you... More

We had a family lunch here for my mum's birthday. The food and setting was absolutely beautiful, couldn't fault a single thing with either of those. We all ordered seafood, and it was perfectly cooked. I had some minor niggles. When I arrived with my children, I asked could I do a quick nappy change somewhere for the baby, and... More

Best seafood chowder ever. The staff was great. Hi to Maure Crowley. Such a lovely view of Kenmare Bay. This place is worth the short drive.
