Delicious Goats Cheese Salad!

Nice snug little lunch venue with a great goats cheese salad on offer and a nice atmosphere right in the middle of Kenmare.

Average food, overpriced and relatively small portions. The location, along a lovely street in Kenmare is probably its best selling point!

This is a busy place, serving shoppers and tourists in this pretty town. There are sandwiches, salads and more prepared things on offer, all served in the useful friendly Irish way. Highly recommended

I have been going to the Purple Heather for years. It is pretty much the same. I am a meat and potatoes Irish person. I am not a Pate person. If I was more daring eater it would likely rank hire. Either way it isn't a high end restaurant. I had vegetable soup and it was not very tasty. I... More

This charming and very authentic pub restaurant is, we think, by far the best in town. Very fresh produce served with a smile, like so often in this blessed country, We definitely recommend it as well as very charming and good taste Kenmore town.

Seemed very much like a local gathering place. Good food and friendly atmosphere. A must if you are in Kenmare

One o'clock in Kenmare means one thing: lunch at the Purple Heather. There are many great things on the menu, also love Patsy Salad, which you can get upon request. Grainne makes everyone feel welcome and Stephen provides great service. You could spend the afternoon looking at the artifacts on the walls -- just get a local to explain them... More

At first we were disappointed in the menu, thinking it was only a health food menu. The menu wasn't what we expected, but all the food was really enjoyed! The guiness was good too!

We were traveling on Ring of Kerry in very bad weather and we stopped in Purple Heather to warm up a little. The place is very nice and cozy, with fireplace and warm atmosphere. Staff is very friendly, especially the waiter who served us and gave us good view on the menu and followed by his recommendation we had soup... More
