Tom Creans restaurant served beautiful food in historical surroundings. I found the staff and service excellent but it was quite cold in the dining room, although it could have been the unusually cold spell outside. The food was beautiful, especially the fresh fish. Good for casual dining and special occasions.

Service was really good but food was just okay. Was overpriced for what we got. A bottle of Kenmare beer was $6.50!

I probably had the best meal of my trip here: delicate pan fried scallops as an appetizer and then sea bream with a glass of Pino Grigio. Wonderful, friendly service. The history of this restaurant is also fascinating as Crean, the original owner, joined several polar expeditions including the one in 1914 with Shackleton on the Endurance, and helped in... More

Food is very good and fresh. Close to the action and quite a lovely evening. Good service and decent wine selection. A good piece of history on display here.

The restaurant listed as #1 was crowded, noisy, and overpriced. "Tom Crean" is named after the local man who became an Anactic explorer with Scott and Shakelton. Many of his artifacts decorate the dining area. According to the menu, his grandaughter is the chef. She is good. Wonderful dinner of freshest seafood and outstanding service. We definitely would go back... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our long awaited trip to the Ring of Kerry and a highlight was this charming and delicious restaurant. Marion, our server, was excellent. She was attentive without being overbearing and had wonderful descriptions of the food and excellent suggestions for our meal. For an appetizer, I chose the soup of the day a delicious cream vegetable with... More

What a lovely place. Really gorgeous menu, flavours just popping at every bite. Variety of dishes to suit all, and Really accommodating for special dietry needs especially if given notice. We wanted to thank the chef and she came out and spoke to us and is such a nice genuine woman who obviously has a real passion for food. Her... More

A group of ladies came to see me for the weekend. And have fallen in love with this beautiful restaurant. Great food, service, great staff. Spoilt for choice in Kenmare. And I'm glad I chose Tom Creans. It had all we wanted. To relax. Enjoy good food. And catch up with old class mates.
