Ate here on a little trip to Kenmare recently. One of the nicest meals I've ever had (Seafood chowder, side of chips!), and service to match. In celebration of a great explorer too, the images and stories about Tom Crean found inside enhance the experience, would recommend to anyone venturing to the south west.

A party of 24 very hungry people were extremely pleased with the excellent choice of food, friendly service offered to us last Monday night. Loved the starters, the warm seafood terrine, potato gnocchi and a beautiful salad were big hits at our table and for main course the seafood parcel, roasted pork, the salmon dish with lovely coriander yogurt sauce... Dear Rambling Sile, Míle buíochas, for your wonderful positive review on behalf of your group of 24 cyclists. I've no doubt you were hungry after cycling the Ring of Beara, tough one but at least you had fine weather, well done. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Slán tamaill More

Me and my partner ate here just this evening. We we're lucky to get a table as it was extremely busy. I ordered mussels to start and seafood gratin as main. My partner ordered chowder to start and the gratin as main also. The waiting staff were friendly but under pressure. After waiting 30 minutes for our starter my mussels... More

Dear Anoirtiac, I'm sorry you did not have a good experience in my restaurant. Yes we were very busy it was Easter Saturday night and you only got a table as we had a last minute cancellation. It is unfortunate that you tasted a "foul" mussel. We ensure all mussels are closed before we cook them sometimes you can get... More

DO NOT ..... pass by this wonderful restaurant !!! We went there last night for the first time and we loved it, from the welcome, to the seating and then the food. For starters we had oysters (local, plump and juicy) and seafood chowder, fish and duck for the mains both were delicious, so tasty and beautifully cooked. Thank you... More

We had a wonderful family celebration on Dec 28th 2014. Fantastic food, wonderful staff, great choice of wine. We could not have wished for a better evening. The staff were perfect in every way and all 28 of us rated the food and ambience as 5*. We highly recommend this restaurant as a 'must go to' when visiting Kenmare.

I didn't think much from the outside & was honestly not expecting much! I really was surprised. They fitted us in at 6.30 on NYE (made the booking that day) All the girls working that evening were very friendly & pleasant. I got pate for starter & a beef fillet wellington for main. OMG.... The fillet beef was cooked to... More

What a fantastic dining out experience it is at Tom Crean Fish and Wine. I decided on the new Gaelic Tapas menu and was not disappointed, wonderful menu, food cooked to perfection and served by efficient, pleasant and informative staff. Dear reader, Sitting down to a meal with a roaring fireplace in front, and the portrait of one of Ireland's greatest heroes and legendary Antarctic Explorer, Tom Crean behind, my only concern was, will the food match the surroundings? I was blown away. I had read previous reviews, I knew this place was good but I wasn't expecting to be... More
