We were kind of lost as we were detouring from our original route. It was lunchtime as we came across the cute looking Panborough Inn. It was a "find". My husband had steak and ale pie and I had carrot soup. Both of our choices were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here.

Been to the Panborough many times over the years as it's a family favourite. Always end up having the same.....steak and chips. Quite simply its the best in the area. Sunday lunch is always good too.

We first visited this pub in 2009 when we first moved to Somerset and visited at least weekly for 2.5 years with never a bad meal. Unfortunately my husband was then unable to climb stairs so we had not visited for 2years but remedied this the other evening. The pub is now run by the mother-in-law of the landlady we... More

This place needs some decorating and a bit of TLC but please don't let this put you off. Its a great place with very friendly staff and what seems to be a handful of super locals. The food can be faulted I've ate here several times and never been disappointed.

Excellent company but disappointed with my food. Starter of Japanese prawns with chilli sauce was tasty but there were only 4 battered prawns! My main course of Chinese belly pork with hoi sin sauce tasted delicious but, oh dear, a very small piece of pork on rice, not a veggie in sight, and a side dish of..... more rice!! At... More

This used to be a great place to meet and have good but affordable food. With fewer people eating out in the rural locations, trade has been hit. The food is very good, home-made and very good value for money. They have a skittle alley which helps trade on one or two evenings and they sell local produce and books... More

First the positives. Quality of food was good. Nice steaks (cooked properly the second time), large portions on meat pie and ok sized combos. Prices on the expensive side. The service was very poor. Bar staff forgetful and fairly frustrating to deal with. Pub as a whole is quite run down and in need of some work. Overall could not... More
