Why have I not visited before?

Only live a few miles from the Horseshoe and as it had specialised in Fish, had never been an attraction. Not sure if there has been a management change but when deciding to eat out, thought we would give it a checking out. The menu posted on the door seemed pretty varied with a very reasonable... read more

Visited here yesterday with family and had the most delicious meal. Not a fault anywhere. Ordering, service, food value for money all perfect. Can't wait to come here again Will definitely be returning and also want to try the Sunday roasts. By the way that king prawn starter: how do you do that? Beats any other starter I have ever... I know that Sunday lunch is meant to be easy but so many get it wrong, whereas the 'Shoe never fails to deliver......always a delight to make the journey across to Offord.

My wife and I decided to both stop in having had a despicable meal across the road two nights previous. We live in Milton Keynes but love this little cluster villages for the vivacious locals and varied cuisine. Our two plaice main courses were fairly adequate, the plaice was obviously machine filleted with bones left in the fish and that... More

We were looking for somewhere with good quality food, in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price. Looks like we found somewhere with The Horseshoe in Lavendon. It was a Sunday early evening and very quiet, but the food was well presented and very tasty. My wife had the plaice off the main menu and I had the... More

Visited the Horseshoe with my son on a Saturday night, whilst visiting him in the area. The pub /restaurant is clean and has a nice village / country pub. " ambience". A good menu and some interesting specials gives plenty of choice and the food is high quality . We both had the king prawn in garlic starters which were excellent.... More

Visited early Saturday evening & we were the only ones in the Restaurant area - Bar area was very busy. Relatively short menu, with strong emphasis on freshly cooked fish, supplemented by a good range of specials. Food was piping hot & nicely cooked. Would certainly eat here again.
