Visited early Saturday evening & we were the only ones in the Restaurant area - Bar area was very busy. Relatively short menu, with strong emphasis on freshly cooked fish, supplemented by a good range of specials. Food was piping hot & nicely cooked. Would certainly eat here again.

Six of us ate there yesterday. The restaurant was not very crowded, which was a shame because the quality of the food and service deserves more. The food was excellent, the service was attentive without being intrusive and the price was good. I also had the mussels and bacon soup for starters. Loved it. It was unfortunate that there were... Been here a couple of times for lunch, the food is freshly prepared, and beautifully cooked. Staff are friendly, and accommodating. Very good with children. They offer a good value lunch deal for 2 or 3 courses. I had a peep out into the beer garden, which looked lovely, will definitely be making use of it when the sun comes... More

I am French and I am a true fan of pub food. At first we stopped at the Horseshoe because food prices were fair. We had a wonderful experience their: on top of being fresh and generously served the cooking is at the same time traditional and original gourmet style. I tried the mussels and bacon soup that was a... More

As it was a Friday night a month before Christmas found it very strange that we were one of two tables... That aside food was delicious. Wide range of specials and home cooked options with set price value menu too. Service was good and friendly. Dessert was a disappointment but could be down to poor choice (cold lemon meringue pie!)... More

Had lunch in here fairly standard menu but some good prices and reasonable quality food. Staff were friendly, was fine for a bite to eat nothing that memorable but did the job for a quick stop off lunch.

A good sized Charles Wells pub in the centre of the village, it has a large car park at the side as well as a few more parking spaces and some picnic benches at the front. Judging on some of the pictures on the walls there is also an attractive beer garden at the rear, although I did not investigate... More

Don't normally bother to write reviews but have visited the Horseshoe twice in last two weeks. It is a down to earth, unpretentious place however the service is personal and friendly without going over the top. Food exceeded expectations on both occasions and excellent value for money. Cannot recommend enough particularly as have had mediocre meals at nearby venues. Really... More
