We go here regularly we can never fault the food drink or atmosphere. Its lovely I the summer with the garden to the side and cozy in the winter with the open fire!! Food is always to a high standard and the service is great. One of the best country pubs around!

Yes, we enjoyed it. The food was very nice. Our party of 4 tried the Gammon, the Lamb Shank, a Pork dish from the specials board and, since it was a Sunday evening, the Beef Roast from lunchtime. Portions were a good size, presentation and quality were both very good. My wife would have preferred her vegetables to be softer,... More

Specials menu never dissapoints, generally wide range of choices on the menu, good size portions and prices are reasonable for the top-quality food. If you're after a splendid meal, look no furhter. Highly recommended.

Went with my wife to the Wheatsheaf Inn on Saturday night. Had a fab meal. I had whitebait to start (just lovely!), followed by a seriously tasty sirloin steak. My wife had goats cheese then steak fajita. Again just great!. Too much food but so very tasty! recommend it!!

Well done to the chefs, the food was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely gorgeous. I just wish your restaurant was bigger so I could bring a huge group of friends. Will return soon!!

We were a group of 30 who had a meal on Friday 15th May. We had all pre-chosen our meals from the menu before-hand, each of us having different meals/ courses. This was all easily and very helpfully arranged via e-mail. Everyone said they really enjoyed their food, the staff worked very hard to look after us and we had... More

This pub advertises that it does homemade food so gave it a try. It was a Sunday night and was quite busy. Menu is comprehensive and there is a specials board. Food was delivered to us in the bar within a reasonable time and was very tasty. This is also a CAMRA pub and the ales are good too. Recommended.

At the risk of sounding boring, we had yet another delicious meal at the Wheatsheaf for my husband's birthday. I had scampi and chips, he had fish and chips. Both were delicious and very generous portions. Very enjoyable - lovely atmosphere, friendly waitress and great service.

We pre-booked 50 meals for our walking club. All the food was excellent and they worked very hard to get it all served in the beer garden,( before our coach was due to leave), with the help of two young boys who were very efficient, helpful and polite; a credit to their parents. We will definately be back when we... More
