First time at this Inn so did'nt know what to expect. Good parking spaces , Garden area with outside seating. The inside was more traditional warm and welcoming the menu had a very good selection to chose from prices ranging from just under £10 upwards, there was also a good selection on the specials board. The food we chose was excellent,... More
We were staying in the village at the Crown Hotel which was also excellent with our 15 year old son and his friend. The Wheatsheaf's menu was extensive and very reasonably priced and the pub had a good choice of real ales and appears in the CAMRA Good Pub Guide. The Locally brewed Corby ale was particularly good. Called in for lunch with a friend, this was our first visit but definitely not our last. Lovely atmosphere very welcoming. Wonderful menu choice at very reasonable prices. When our lunch arrived it was delicious, well presented and cooked to perfection. Excellent value.
We revisited this lovely village to retrace childhood memories. We stayed in the village and ate at the inn, it was a real treat. The inn was quiet a change form the lunch time rush, with a car park fit to burst. The welcome was warm and friendly despite our unfamiliar faces in the village, the food was absolutely delicious,... Stopped off for lunch on the way to Scotland Eating in the lounge bar which has a TV at one end but is not intrusive. Three real ales on tap during my visit the food was excellent and home cooked with a menu that showed great imagination ,we felt very refreshed after our stop and service was excellent
On a drive from Edinburgh to Runcorn I decided to call here for some food (rather than the rubbish offered up at service stations). It's a lovely little pub and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered fish and chips and my girlfriend chose steak pie. Both dishes were very tasty.
We went for our sunday lunch and it was absolutely lovely. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and the whole meal was delicious. Some of our party chose from the menu instead of having the beef. There is lots of choice and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. A lovely friendly pub thats worth a visit.
3 of us went for dinner . The food quality was excellent, well priced and the service was superb. would recommend this place to one and all.
I visited the wheatsheaf today with my son and his wife and I have to say the food was very good but the swearing coming out of the kitchen wasn't,very disappointed. Not what you want to here whilst eating your meal.I have giving a rating of 4 because the food was good shame about the rest.
