The wine bar closed for a little while but open since. Just to make sure my previous review still applies We have dinned at the wine bar in September, again very good , and now in October with a new chef there is a more varied menu and we loved it . Good atmosphere and excellent food

The telephone number no longer works and there does not appear to be an alternative. Previous poor reviews and two changes of name may have caused it to close.

Have frequented this establishment for a few years now.Firstly it needs to decide what it is a front room or a bar bistro. Tables are shabby, the walls are full of mismatched pictures and family pics which look naff.Beautiful solid wood flooring has been replaced with felt type cheap carpet. The whole place is grubby including the kitchen which I got... We have been regulars for some time and can only highly recommend this establishment. The food is always good, we have had great service and the wine selection is , although not cheap, of very good quality and worth the extra. From just a few drinks to a full night out and even a private function, this place is great.

The food is always excellent - of the highest quality and beautifully cooked. The menu is limited but suitable for most tastes. The atmosphere is always very welcoming.

We have had over the last few years wonderful food and drink in this wine bar and restaurant just off market square in sudbury. A family owned business David, the owner, starts his day at the David's Deli cafe adjacent to the restaurant serving the best coffee in town, all varieties of teas, delicious sandwiches, soup, eggs, cheese or parma ham... We went for dinner & I can honestly say the food was amazing. I had fish, hubby had the burger. Good sized portions. There is an offer for 3 dishes (small plates) £10 which we will do next time. Service friendly, quick and nothing too much trouble. Can't wait to go back.

This is a lovely place to eat whether in the restaurant or coffee shop/deli, the food is fresh and seasonal, the chef is very good, the service is friendly and welcoming. The two rooms are just the right size: not big enough to feel barn-like and not small enough to hear everyone at the next table, the nicest kind of... More

I love Thompson's Bistro! whether it is for a quiet lunch, dinner or just popping in for a glass of wine, the staff are very friendly and the ambiance is excellent. Just a very short walk from Market Square.
