Excellent foie gras

A welcoming and friendly restaurant a short drive from Luxembourg where we were staying. A very good choice of menus to suit all tastes and budgets. We had the tasting menu of foie gras which was excellent though be prepared for generous portions and pace yourself. A nice touch was that the... read more

Visited with friends and had a super dinner. We came at 2000 which is much to late for such a large and good meal. We did not finish until very late. Menu is super and dishes large. Service is a bit on the slow but the vine card leaves plenty of choice to spend the wait.

The restaurant is in plain countryside, in a small village, called Montenach, close to Schengen. It is well-known for its gourmet local products that they also sell in a shop attached to the restaurant. The restaurant has several themed rooms, all of them nicely decorated to create a warm rustic environment. It was our second visit and we opted for... More

If foie gras is your thing then this is the place. mouth-watering foie gras. We had the 55 euro meal and it was more than we could eat but every course was delicious. The cooked foie gras was also to die for. Nice setting, no one rushes you, however the wait staff seems a little young or inexperienced to be... More

Book in advance for Saturday and Sunday lunch. Enjoy the foie, be ready to eat with the menu, I was almost done before the two final dishes. I enjoyed delicious Moussel white wines through the course of the menu, one small mud pitcher.

I ate there for lunch yesterday, and I cannot say enough good about it. The restaurant is on a hill outside a small village with a nice view. The décor and ambience is 100% French, although the clientele is heavily German and International. Having eaten dinner there before, I went for the foie gras, and they had a terrific appetizer... We just had a phantastic get-together of a dozen people neither of whom had ever met the others, and it has been a great moment thanks to the hospitality of the Auberge and its lovely and efficient personnel. The occasion was the celebration of the publication of a study about hermits and hermitages in Luxembourg and environs, just out now... More

very good food, nice situation not far from Manderen castle..A bit expensive though but worth it. they make their own foie gras (but is it politically correct to enjoy eating foie gras today? lol), if you don't, too bad! you will miss something^^
