Pleasant surprise

My wife came across this hotel through a special offer: a night's stay with dinner and breakfast at an interesting price. We 'upgraded' the meal from the Brasserie to the restaurant at the cost of £10 each. The hotel itself is a modern place, geared towards golf, but with good facilities. The... read more

Haven't eaten here for several months due to the menu being kept the same for months on end. But really very pleasantly surprised last evening, lovely new menu food superb and as always service very special. Well done Chef Mark AB is back on track will be visiting again very soon. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Came on a corporate supper at the end of a tricky time at work. Not sure why they thought this was sensible. It's a bit of a trek out of Plymouth and none of us are golfers. It's a soulless room in a bland modernist style. A bit like you might find on an uninspiring cruise ship. The food was... More

Popped in here after a visit to the club. Service was slow, food only OK & very expensive. Does not compare favourably with other local options

Very slow service with two uneatable main courses - both sent back. Plus point was the Maitre D who was very apologetic. The barman was uninterested and the draught beer was cloudy and flat. I was it had "come a long way". I asked - "Plymouth as it tastes like something out of the Sound". Would never eat there again... More

We've eaten here twice previously and the atmosphere is a little simple and clinical as other reviews have stated, but given the location and room available, the atmosphere is very pleasant and clean. The waiter was pleasant but not incredibly helpful. Each time we've arrived, there seems to be some sort of surprise at our arrival (despite booking). We're not... More

We visited on a Sunday evening to celebrate our anniversary, the meal was tasty fresh. The staff were attentive, and courses were served at nice intervals, we were not rushed at all and were left to enjoy the view and a few drinks. Only criticism was that due to being a Sunday the menu was set with a choice of... More

We stayed at St.Mellion Resort for the last week in June. Given previous experiences of eating at the hotel over nearly thirty years we tend to go elsewhere however our experience of Sunday lunch this year was excellent! The restaurant is modern, bright, and furnished with well spaced tables with especially comfortable seats. Service was excellent;friendly, efficient, and professional (with Jose, who served us taking... We had a family Sunday Roast for 22, which was poor. It took an hour before the food arrived, and what was on the plate was just not good enough. There was plenty of beef (the only choice of meat), and it was very tender. However, what accompanied it was sparce! A few over-cooked spuds, a very small amout of... More
