Unexpected!

We were looking for a place for a Friday night bite and spotted the elderly rickshaw 'parked' on the canopy of the restaurant (which is an old cinema). Unable to resist a good bit of kitsch referencing, we entered. The interior is very glamorous, somewhwre between a nod to its former life as a... read more

Fairly busy Saturday night - lots of friendly staff on hand. All 4 of us rated the Onion Bhajis the best we'd had & main courses delicious too. Good choice of dishes and drinks as well.

The Maazi has a relaxing comfortable ambience, although it is a large room. The service is excellent - quick, attentive and friendly. We had enjoyable conversations with several waiters, and quite a long chat with the boss himself, who is a human dynamo with an evident passion for food. He talked us through our various choices and suggested some improvements... More

Was made very welcome, went on the off chance and had to wait about 10 mins for a table. No problem as I was offered a drink while I waited. The service was very good and attentive. Good and varied menu. The food was of a high standard. The resteraunt is located in what was a cinema on the road... More

Very good meal and service. Dips and chutney with poppadums not as good as I'm used to but the tandoori mixed grill, Bombay aloo highly recommended. Prefer a thicker naan if I'm honest. Very friendly and accommodating.

The food ,atmosphere, service and overall experience here is amazing. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The quality of food is brilliant. I have visited for a cosy meal for two and after a days walking in the Peak District with a group. The restaurant is a credit to Matlock.

I am something of a regular visitor to Maazi. The food is excellent and the restaurant itself is set in what used to be the old cinema in Matlock. It gives the place a very spacious and almost theatrical feel. Since I first went there, they've got quicker at serving the food and taking for the bill; which is all... More

I was disappointed to read about the birthday meal not going as planned, in my experience this is very unusual. They are so friendly, helpful and accommodating, we over last six years have never experienced anything to complain about. Food is fabulous, great choices, good ambience and brilliant friendly service. Would highly recommend...
