Had a take-away from here while staying in Ashover... it was superb food. All four of us had different meals and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. When we visit again we will certainly eat in the restaurant as it's popularity says it all. Nice friendly staff to chat with while you wait.

We ordered: - a vegetarian balti £8.50 - not terrible. - lamb ghost about £9.75 - mutton dressed up as lamb, so toughish - not great. - chicken korma - they must've put in a whole bag of sugar - really horrible. - chapatis £1.25 each were hot - ok. - plain boiled rice £2? - not the finest that... We have had takeaways from here in the past and thought as it was our wedding anniversary we would would book a table, this was no problem, when we arrived we we seated very quick. Food was ok, but I felt did not taste the same and was cold. Price wise very expensive we eat less food than we would... More

My family and I decided to visit Maazi on the spur of the moment. Our experience was fantastic from the moment we walked in. The staff were very welcoming and the dining room is beautifully fitted out. I loved the rose petals on the table! Although it was a Tuesday evening the restaurant was buzzing, with most tables full. The... More

My wife and I decided to revisit Maazi after an absence of nearly a year. The restaurant has been refurbished since our last visit, which included taking full advantage of the lovely views over the local park. We opted for the early evening menu, which included most starters and main courses within a reasonable set price. We were both delighted... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Maazi. The food was plentiful and delicious, the ambience lovely with staff in ethnic dress. I thought the service was slightly chaotic (for instance we were offered desert while still waiting for the main course) but perhaps this is because they are trying a bit too hard. But I do heartily recommend Maazi. We... More

We tend to go every few months as a group of friends for a midweek meal. We are always well looked after, the food is excellent as is the location.

The fact that it was quite hard to get a booking here spoke volumes! Located in a former cinema, the restaurant was upstairs. We were greeted by smart waiters all in national dress and escorted to our table. On a Sunday evening, the place was buzzing with whole families including babies. The menu was extensive and the food absolutely delicious.... More

Couldn't fault it for what it was, friendly staff interesting building and good atmosphere! Attentive and professional service with varied and clever menu, would give anywhere half decent a v good run for its money!
