This is the second visit me and my family have made here. This time the prices were extortionate a ham toasty, ham sandwich, 2 tea cakes 2 coffees and an orange drink £24. The food was nice but not to those prices. The view from the outside seating area is probably what we also paid for. The staff of very... More

I really should have written this review sooner. We called in on Good Friday after walking part of the Monsal Trail and enjoying Easter songs played by the Sally Army high up on a rock. Hobb's Cafe is my sort of place, wholesome food, and especially enjoyed the fact that the chef knows a decent salad is more than lettuce,... More

Having done a small part of the Monsal trail, we called in here for a cup of tea. Himself had lapsong souchon whilst I plumped for the house tea. We each enjoyed our choice. Didn't eat there but found service pleasant and friendly

Really quick service even though we only stopped off for a quick cuppa whilst on a circular walk from Ashford in the water. Service with a smile

The gentleman owner has a lovely endearing manner, and a great voice to boot. Great little cafe that serves very good quality light refreshments such as freshly made sandwiches and cakes. A very captive market based on it's location right at the top of Monsal Head but certainly not resting on it laurels. The owner went the extra mile to... More

Not visited since 2011 ,however myself and better half had lunch a couple of days ago. I'm sooo glad that we did. A wonderful lunch served by obliging and welcoming staff, table overlooking one of the best vistas in Derbyshire, and food to die for. Not cheap, but as the manufacturer of the best tools in the world says "... More

We called in at the weekend while we were out walking, a lovely little cafe at the top of the hill with fantastic views over Monsal Head, Upon entering we noticed it was a cosy little place with tables scattered throughout the long establishment (looked like several old cottages knocked through) there was a couple of log fires burning which... In a perfect location at Monsal Head and a welcomed end to our walk. Can highly recommend the coffee, stilton with pear and walnut chutney sandwich and the ham and cheese toastie. Lovely customer service and a wonderful craft shop towards the rear of the cafe. The cafe has a lovely feel to it with an open fire, it was... More

Have a eaten here quite a few times and it has always been brilliant. Well worth a 4 hour round trip and 7 mile walk. Staff are great, always friendly and welcoming, food is top notch, try the coffee and walnut cake. I always expect alcoholic drinks in a cafe to be OK at best, not here, quality wine and... More
