Lovely food

Arrived late one rainy Friday evening only just found a table in the bar area. Food took a while to arrive but the wait was well worth it - the veg that accompanied was so tasty and unexpected with what was ordered.

Went for an early evening meal which was nice but not fantastic. The place is quite big so a bit soulless. Staff friendly but a bit rushed off their feet with the size of the place.

We called in here by chance on a Tuesday in April, it was so busy only bar tables were available. Choice was good, food service a little slow, but very friendly staff, our meals arrived with a nice choice of separate vegetables, just the right amount and we all cleared our plates. We all felt it was very good value,... More

We visited this restaurant because I thought I had seen a reference to it on a vegetarian review site and the Tuesday night platters from around the world sounded interesting. I must have misread my hand-writing as the platters were very meat-biased. However, there were four veggie options, giving a reasonable choice. The main meals and puddings were filling and... More

Had an evening meal at this pub whilst staying at a local B&B. Very friendly staff and beautifully presented food. I recommend the steak, accompanied by a pint or two of Bakewell Bitter.

We booked three nights so that we could spend a day at Chatsworth as well as grab a few National Trust property's. That we have done for sure bu what we got as a bonus was superb, ever changing dinner menues and breakfasts to get an army marching. My only fear is that certain items of clothing might be under... stumbled upon this pub after going somewhere else and decided didnt like menu, Thought the menu although a little dated, offered a very good choice, little bit 70s. Quality was excellent, honest, freshly cooked pub food, fresh vegetables and very good service, reasonable prices my husband had seafood tagliatelle, so much fish in it. Only complaint, we arrived a little... More

Menu varies from day to day. We had a pleasant and reasonably priced meal here in the evening. The fact that it was packed indicates that it is well thought of. The portions were very generous.

After being away a for a few days, I always enjoy writing positive reviews for the local restaurants we've visited. Sadly, this is not possible in the case of The Ashford Arms. From the moment we entered (not so much as a "hello" or "someone will be right with you" from at least four members of staff moving back and... More
