Holidaying again in the Peak District, and once again found ourselves booking up the ashford arms for Sunday lunch! Worth travelling for! I like the fact they serve late into the afternoon, so you can enjoy a good walk beforehand and make the most of the day, and they offer more than one Sunday Roast meat choice which appeals to... We have visited the Ashford Arms several times, it remains our favourite place to eat in the local area! The food never disappoints, there is plenty of choice and it is always cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and helpful, they can't do enough to help you. If I was to try and look for a downside I would... More

It's cold and snowy but a warm welcome at the Ashford Arms. The bar supports local ales Chatsworth Gold and Bakewell Best bitter both in great condition. Our order was taken by pleasant young staff offering a choice of three meats plus a choice of cooking grades on the beef. The meal was well presented and Robs (the chef) Yorkshires... More

The food was good, we opted for the Christmas fayre and had prawn cocktail to start followed by salmon. Both very good and the correct amount of food on your plate. Desert was disappointing. Staff not very attentive, quite disappointing Decor needs an urgent up date.

Having discovered this restaurant only in the past year, we have made many repeat visits. This is a beautiful pub in a beautiful village. The food has always been top notch and the service, friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, we were too late to book for Christmas Day dinner (fully booked by October with lengthy waiting list). We were however lucky... More

Ok if you want Christmas menu but forget the rest. Harrington chicken tough could not eat it. Cheese board expensive and very dismal. Complained to waitress but no apology from her or rest of staff. No response when emailed the Ashford Arms next day. What a shame.
