Great food

Visited the Ashford arms after walking the Monsell trail, and have got to say the food and service was excellent! I would recommend their pies as they are homemade and the best I have tasted.

This pub was recommended in a guide book at our self-catering accommodation so we set off to Bakewell after a lovely walk at Monsal Head, ignoring the pub at the start and end of our walk (mistake). We walked in with a big smile on our faces to be greeted by a very grumpy, aggressive looking woman with a plateful... More

Came here for a lunch on recommendation. The ambience lets it down a little (70s hits on pan pipes...) but the food MORE than made up for this. The pies in particular contain chunks (half a cow!) of steak so forget measly bits of gristle. The deserts are nice and the Vacheran was a delight. Would recommend as a great... More

I am sure it's all been said but I'll add my bit.We called recently for Sunday lunch,we were in the area on holiday and had pre-booked well in advance and I'm really pleased that we did!! All the tables that I could see were reserved and within minutes of our arrival the place was full! What was on offer was... More

Lovely pub that serves great meals! We visit this pub regularly & have never had a bad meal! My parents go weekly for Saturday lunch! We have used the Ashford Arms for family celebrations & have booked large groups of 25 for Dad's 60th & the service & food was still fantastic! Would defiantly recommend the Ashford Arms! Book in... A truly excellent meal, with a great selection on the menu, and all at very good prices. All the food arrived in good time and piping hot. The stand out thing for me was the fact that a pub/restaurant offered Trout on the menu. I had this and it was stunning! Deserts were also to die for. Definitely one for... More

Met up with friends here for an early evening dinner and were not disappointed. The fish and chips are superb ( battered Hake ) and the steaks come on a red hot platter sizzling like mad! Understandably a busy spot so suggest making a reservation for a table. Good all round experience, with a good range of beers too

Good quality food in huge portions at a reasonable price. Ate like a pig and regretted it the whole walk home...

We visited here on Sunday for a birthday celebration for my partner. The food was absolutely delicious. We got looked after very well, the staff were great. The general manager even had time to sort out the birthday cake for us, the cake came out to happy birthday playing through the music system , so thank you for making my... More

Holidaying again in the Peak District, and once again found ourselves booking up the ashford arms for Sunday lunch! Worth travelling for! I like the fact they serve late into the afternoon, so you can enjoy a good walk beforehand and make the most of the day, and they offer more than one Sunday Roast meat choice which appeals to...
