Very impressed

We were taken to The Ashford Arms by friends who had eaten there on several occasions in the past. All I can say if that you are ever in the Bakewell area you could do a lot worse than not eat in this restaurant. It is a delightful place with comfortable lounges and dining areas. The staff were... read more

Enjoyed the food, but service left a lot to be desired. We had booked a table for 6pm and entered the front door. We were promptly til the restaurant wasn't open yet and that a hotel guest had left the door open when they shouldn't have! We were shown to our table next to the ramp walkway in the conservatory.... we are locals and eat here regularly. it is advisable to book and they cater for celiac which is great. its always busy which tells you alot about a pub/restaurant and the food is gorgeous. they have disabled access and a disabled toilet also.

Our stay for one night didn't perhaps get off on the best footing as we arrived at 5.30 when the pub/hotel doesn't open until 6. Don't think they really wanted to let us in but they did! Rooms was very nice, overlooking the main street but it is all very quiet. They sensibly reserve a table for house guests, which... More

Been twice now, Both visits were on a Sunday. Nice range of starters but limited on main course to traditional Sunday roast options plus a couple more (vegetarian etc) There was no Childrens menu available and when we asked the staff if they could possibly do some sausages or something similar for our two children the response was a straight... We usually go here once a month as the food is so good and tasty sometimes on Sunday or on a night in midsummer as we live at Chesterfield. We sometimes combine it with a look round Bakewell and Brierlow Bar Bookshop near Chelmorton. Always have to book as it's always busy. Never had a bad meal and the staff... More

My wife treated me to dinner for two at the Ashford arms. Booking a table is a must. The menu presented us with loads of choices (although the starters are a little "fish heavy"). The food is well presented, service is prompt and attentive (not limited to one waiter/waitress per table helps) and tasted great As others have mentioned, the... More

Lovely traditional English country pub. Loved the food and hospitality, no negatives. On advice we booked a table and it was busy around 7pm even on a Monday. Well worth a visit

We visited The Ashford Arms for Sunday lunch yesterday and was blown away by just how amazingly tasty it was. There were 8 of us there for a birthday lunch - all the food arrived steaming hot and all at the same time, which is unusual for a larger table. We had a huge plateful each and was even some...
