Seven of us went on Wednesday evening for my 50th birthday dinner . The whole evening was a success , the wait between courses is acceptable due to your food been freshly cooked to order ,we nearly all ate something different from the varied menu and each plate was nearly licked clean , Wednesday is steak night as well so... Visited as a group of 8, extremely impressed by the very reasonable prices, the service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent. The place has a good atmosphere with typical country pub decor. I would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed for two nights with group of friends, three couples. Were aware that closed between 3pm and 6pm so checked in around 1pm. Rooms ready, immaculatey painted snd spotless rooms. What you would expect in a village pub. Sandwich lunch excellent, comes with chips and side salad, Friday and saturday evenings are a'la carte nights with specials off the board... More

We have been visiting the Ashford Arms for over ten years now and in all of that time we have enjoyed friendly efficient service and excellent quality food. So when it came to my wife's birthday I decided to book a room for an overnight stay. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived, we had a... More

As the restaurant was fully booked we opted for a table in the bar. Fillet steak outstanding and salmon en croutes special very nicely prepared and presented. Staff were friendly helpful and attentive- we were asked 3 times if the meals were to our liking! Price reasonable for a meal of the highest quality. The only thing I would change... More

Can't fault the food, best thing from the night. Shame about the service, no cheek backs, no drink orders where taken at the table so had to wait at the bar. I'd expect better from the manager and the staff

I have consistently enjoyed the food here - it's reliably traditional and beautifully cooked. My partner won't eat lamb shank anywhere else, my mother-in-law is the same with the steak, I love the fish and I look forward to the vegetable sides - deep fried broccoli and greens especially. However I was pushed to write this review as a result... More

Pulled in here on a whim and were very glad we did. With no reservation, we were lucky to get a table amongst a few groups that appeared as 'regulars' and enjoyed two terrific roast lunches. Highly recommended on a Sunday for the roasts alone!

The thing that impresses the most about eating here on Christmas Day is that the Management don't try to cram as many people in as possible to turn a quick buck. Standard of food excellent; unlike many venues at Christmas where quality suffers trying to cater for huge numbers. Staff well trained, efficient and friendly. Have spent Christmas Day here... More
