Family friendy, lovely but understaffed and disorganised.

This is a lovely hotel with some fabulous bedrooms in the main house and very well set up to entertain all ages with a spa, swimming pool, sauna, outside games and lots of inside entertainment for families as well. The views across the countryside from the house and some of the bedrooms is lovely... read more

Friends stayed here recently and as we live locally invited us to dine with them. From start to finish it was a disastrous evening which our hosts were deeply embarrassed about through no fault of their own. Drinks were uber-expensive, the restaurant staff were cold, rude and frankly inept and also hard to find- chasing after staff to order drinks... More

After living in this area for over 40 years, a visit to this hotel for lunch was so exciting. But oh my was I disappointed, first impressions the grounds looked neglected I.e. grass needed to be cut walled garden produce was neglected. As advertised as a family hotel there was apple trees which had just been to drop there fore a... More

From the moment of arrival to the time of departure i could not fault anything at this relaxing country house full of nooks and crannies which after 3 days we had not fully explored Our visit was to celebrate an 80th birthday for extended family members ageing in range between 2-80 and everyone had a similarly fantastic experience as all... We met a few friends who were staying in this wonderful, quirky hotel for dinner. It was like eating at a friends home - log fire roaring, no pressure on ordering, then through to crisp white linen and a sparkling table. The staff were so friendly and relaxed. And then the biggest surprise - the food was really good. Between... More

We stayed a weekend in October in this lovely but somewhat cramped hotel. Our room which was the cheapest available double was £ 250 including one dinner. The room was well equipped and comfortable but because it is an old property, access by way of a steep staircase can be a problem. The spa was very disappointing - the indoor... More

We went to a Golden wedding celebration for both afternoon tea & dinner in the evening. The afternoon tea was beautiful. Tea & Coffee in abundance, delicate sandwiches, delicious cakes (the scones with jam & cream are to die for) and with the addition of attentive staff and a private room it was all perfect. The dinner started with pre... More
