Food here was great quality and huge portions. We had cottage pie and served piping hot with 3 fresh veg. Yum. Really nice location. Don't hesitate to eat here.

Right next to the moorings below Bradford lock, this was the perfect pit-stop after a long day on the water. It was a pleasantly warm May evening and they were quite happy for our collie to join us under the table in a semi-covered area of the garden. Food was fairly standard pub fare with a decent choice of beers... More

Great location, unpretentious, friendly staff and the best Wiltshire ham, egg and chips around - it comes with a salad and coleslaw and is better priced than anywhere else in the area. There is a garden area which is a great spot for a drink and canal watching and there is also a pool table in the bar. The pub... More

Nice to find a pub that does food and that hasn't turned itself into a restaurant. Great location, Nice beer, beautiful quality home-cheffed food, and friendly staff. Has a garden too!! Will visit again if we are in the area.

As we live in Frome we often walk the canal path at Bradford when the weather is fine and I had always assumed that the Canal Tavern served standard precooked chain pub food. So it was an unexpected surprise, when we had lunch there with my brother who was travelling the canal to find that the menu is varied and... More

Moored up outside this pub after doing the lock on the first day of the holiday. Stopped here for dinner which was fantastic, I have never been so stuffed!! The main meal was delicious and although we shared a crumble it was so scrummy! Would definately recommend it :)

Arrived at this riverside pub late afternoon and didn't know what to expect regarding food. Were we surprised -absolutely! Had one of the best roasts we have had EVER, and plenty of it. Also had lovely warm baguettes and salad. Lovely host and very homely, we will be back.

This is an ideal pub if you are on a narrow boat weekend on the Kennet and Avon and are going to moor up for the night. I have been stopping off here for the last 4 years on my way to and back from Bath on a weekend visit with my friends. Last weekend we stopped of on the... More

Seriously! Location is nice and food was average at best which was not reflected in the price. Worse was the cost of the coke which is on tap. London prices belong in London!
