Not sure what was intended with this make-over and name change. Names like the Muddy Duck (The new name for The Kings Arms) and The Slug & Lettuce and so on are so yesterday and just a passing fad. The name of a pub usually has an historic meaning.and has meant something to the customers over many years, sometimes hundreds... More

Two friends ,very hot lunch time. No lunch menu...just offered main menu .We asked if we could have a salad. Was told that we may be lucky as "the chef is in a good mood " A salad was produced. One other family as customers. The service and attitude were poor and the indifferent meal extremely expensive. We visited this restaurant - now renamed The Muddy Duck - after a recommendation from the owners of the cottage we stayed at. Apparently, it had just reopened after management changes. The food was disappointing. Both starters of fish roe, and mushroom were served on a lump of French bread which rather detracted from the flavour and added a chewiness... More

My wife and I visited The Kings Arms for a Sunday Roast having been advised that the Kings Arms was a good option in the area. We certainly weren't disappointed and would be glad to recommend to others Everything from the soup and bread to the Yorkshire puddings and roast beef was tasty, fresh and flavoursome, service was friendly with... On arrival at the Kings arms we were very happy with the ambience and decor, this however is where the satisfaction ended. We ordered ribeye steaks for our main course, mine arrived still bloody when I asked for medium, the waitress took this back and the same steak was reheated to be now well done. Both pieces of meat were... More

I have been to this pub many times over the past 5 years as there are many good attributes. The location is excellent, the ambience is good with a mixture of both locals and guests. I have had a range of different items from the menu and it is fairly solid hence why I have returned frequently however I have... More

Dine here regularly now, more of an eatery than a pub to be fair, but then when your looking for a relaxed more informal dining experience, a gastropub/restaurant fusion, is just what you want. Always encountered friendly staff, good service and good food in the 8-10 times have been.

Located in the village on Monkton Farleigh, between the City of Bath and the town of Bradford on Avon this is a really fine pub. There is a good selection of beers, wines and spirits, and the above average food menu offers a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes. Highly recommended !
