A particular favourite of ours, first class food in a lovely setting. The menu and service excellent and its very good value for money. It tops my list of local restaurants and each visit is a delight, good quality food and never a bad meal.

Just had a very pleasant meal with my wife, the megrim sole, accompanied by 3 pints of bath gem. Very enjoyable. just to clarify the megrim sole was the meal, not my wife!

We had a long day at Bath Christmas Market and needed to relax with a good meal. We got this and more. The atmosphere with a log fire and friendly waitress and chef was everything we needed. The normal chef was on a day off, if his deputy (his father) was this good, I wonder what the normal chef was... More

Perfect winter evening meal for 7 had here. We booked and was seated near a lovely large log fire. Good beer on tap, and nice wine. Options of steak, fish and chips, mussels, sausage and mash, curry. Plenty of choice. Large portions. Battered fish a bit too crips but otherwise excellent food. No rush to get us out of rate... More

Having had the Sunday Roast recommended to us, we gave it a try today and are certainly not sorry we tried. There was a good choice of Beef, Lamb, Pork, Chicken, Fish & Vegetarian options. The food is very generous, with big slices of perfectly cooked meat, all choices came with a Yorkshire pudding, crackling, a great range of vegetables... More

It is well worth searching out this superb gem of a typical English country pub in a rural setting but offering inside an air of relaxed sophistication but with an air of cosines complete with a welcoming open fire. The staff were most helpful and the food was superb and of of a high quality and well presented . The... More

Good welcome and good food to with it. We were both please with our food, the only moan was from the pudding which I am sure had lovely flaky pastry the first time around but it had gone soft and lifeless upon being reheated in the microwave. That aside though the Lamb burger was exceptional and the Sausage and mash... More

This is a superb pub, great owners and staff, really well thought out menu using great quality produce and a top atmosphere. I live in Bradford on Avon and this has been a regular of mine for over 10 years. I have seen 3 owners in situ and have to say the current owners are the best landlords/chefs. If you... More
